From 2002 to 2007, he served as Planning Manager, Product Manager and Development Manager at BMW headquarters in Munich; after serving as Director of Business Development in Greater China in 2005, he became Senior Vice President of Marketing of brilliance BMW Co., Ltd. Joined Infiniti in 2013 as General Manager of Infiniti China and General Manager of Dongfeng Infiniti Automobile Co., Ltd., responsible for China operations.

In March 2016, he co-founded the high-end smart electric car company FMC (later launched under the brand name BYTON Baiteng) with Dr. Bi Fukang, a former vice president of BMW Group, as president and co-founder of BYTON Baiteng. Later, due to the poor management of Baiteng cars, both left.

Until the end of March this year, it was rumored that he would go to work for Evergrande. According to media reports, Dai Lei visited the headquarters of Evergrande Group in March and was received by senior executives of Evergrande. But neither Evergrande nor Dai Lei responded at that time.

At this time, the official official Xuan joined Evergrande Automobile or brought some help to the marketing and promotion of its products. After all, Dai Lei has 19 years of experience in the automobile industry and has a deep accumulation in marketing. After the founding of Baiteng Automobile, it means that Dai Lei has work experience of both traditional car companies and new car makers.

As we all know, from the information that Evergrande has announced, Evergrande has entered the key link after car construction. Judging from Evergrande's previous plans, the layout is already very compact, including model release, testing, publicity, etc., and it is expected that Evergrande "Hengchi" series models will be mass produced in the second half of 2021, when the production workshop reaches full production. You can produce one car per minute. According to the plan, Evergrande will achieve annual production capacity of about 1 million vehicles by 2025 and 5 million by 2035. At present, the two major production bases in Shanghai and Guangzhou have started trial production at the end of 2020.

So far, Evergrande has released Hengchi 1, Hengchi 2, Hengchi 3, Hengchi 4, Hengchi 5, Hengchi 6, Hengchi 7, Hengchi 8 and Hengchi 9, covering A to D class models, as well as cars, sedan cars, SUV, MPV and crossovers. It is worth mentioning that none of the Hengchi models have been pre-sold or listed on the market.

It can be seen that Evergrande has a great demand for "related people" while accelerating the layout of its product plan. Some data show that since Evergrande entered the bureau to build the car, it has continuously attracted international talents, including 22 international top experts, including Fang Chi, former president of Dongfeng Automotive Engineering Research Institute, Li Junxiu, former president of Battery Research Institute of South Korea SK Group, Xu Xingyi, former senior technical expert of Ford Motor in the United States, Alex James Hamade, former senior quality director of Tesla, and Benoit Jacob, former vice president of modeling and design of BMW Group.
