According to data from the Federation of passengers, sales in the domestic narrow passenger car market reached 1.752 million in March, an increase of 67.2% over the same period last year, and 48.6% month-on-month increase in sales of 5.092 million vehicles from January to March, an increase of 68.8% over the same period last year.

In terms of specific models, car sales in March increased by 72.49% over the same period last year, up 106000 units from the same period last year, and 53.29% year-on-year growth of 777,000 SUV sales, an increase of 67.29% over the same period last year. New energy narrow passenger car sales were 185000, up 302.9% from the same period last year, keeping the strongest sector.

From the car list, electric car brands still maintain a number of models on the list, in addition, luxury brands also have models on the list, but there has been a brand switch. Overall, the ranking of models in March this year has not changed much. The top three are Nissan Xuan Yi, Volkswagen New Bora and New Lang Yi.

Last year, Xinlangyi has been in the position of Xuanyi, returning to the top of the list in 2021, but it was overtaken by Xuanyi in March this year, not even as good as the new Bora model, in sharp contrast to Xuanyi, which has maintained a stable sales model of "new and old". Also on the list is the independent brand Wuling Hongguang MINI, which appears on the list as a new energy model, but it appears on the list together with Tesla Model 3, indicating that new energy models are gradually being recognized by the market.

Judging from the SUV list, the sales list in March has been regained by the Great Wall Harvard H6, reflecting that Great Wall Harvard's strength is still there, slightly different from the second Changan CS75 series. However, apart from Harvard M6 at the bottom of the list, there is no independent brand SUV.

From the perspective of the domestic SUV market in the past, there were still five independent brands on the list in January this year, reduced to four in February and one in March, which means that the brand strength has returned to the joint venture brand in March this year.

In addition to the Audi Q5, Mercedes-Benz's GLC and BMW X3 have both appeared and promoted, reflecting the expansion of the luxury brand market, like the car market.

According to the MPV list, Wuling once again remains the leader in the MPV market, only that its sales growth is not fuelled by previous commercial models, but by the launch of Wuling's first silver-standard model, Wuling Capgemini. After all, compared with the downward trend in the past, Wuling has finally achieved growth, albeit at a relatively small rate.

Through the cost-effective route, emphasizing both price and space, it successfully snatched part of the sales of Baojun 730 and Baojun RM-5, while squeezing the same price models of BYD Song MAX and Geely Jiaji, so that the year-on-year growth of other models was lower than the market rate, or even declined.

And the high-end MPV market, well deserved is Buick GL8 to continue, year-on-year growth of 139.1% to 18811 vehicles, a large increase. And the most obvious growth of high-end MPV is Chuanqi M8 and Honda's Eric Gentry, which helped increase brand sales due to the support of performance-to-price ratio.

As for the performance of the new energy market is significantly better than the traditional model market, Wuling Hongguang MINI has promoted the demand for new energy vehicles in more domestic cities under the influence of ultra-high performance-to-price ratio, and it has become the highest new energy single model in the world. The second is Tesla, which has a strong domestic brand, not only the Model 3 model, but also in the environment of increasing production capacity, Model Y has become a new energy model with high domestic sales and has successfully surpassed other new energy models.

In terms of new forces, ideal is higher than NIO's other two models, ES6 and EC6, both of which have risen sharply compared with the same period last year, indicating that the new forces are also gradually recognized by the market.

Overall, it is not surprising that most models were able to achieve year-on-year growth, mainly due to the low base of the epidemic last year. However, from the list, the expansion of the high-end exchange volume in the traditional market, as well as the higher performance of the new energy market, shows that new energy and middle and high end are the trend of the future market.
