On April 16, GAC EA officially announced that its entire range of models will be replaced with a new logo.

The front of the car uses a brand-new "G" mark with a more uniform tone and a more flat design. The brand-new "G" mark breaks away from the original "G" 3D design vision, but it is not completely flattened, and there are still shadows below to show the three-dimensional sense. At the same time, the inner ring of the "G" standard also uses a "AION blue" hue to highlight the electric identity. Overall, although GAC Ean renovated the brand, but the overall change is not great.

In the rear part of the car, the word "GAC MOTOR" on the left was also changed to "GAC EA" to reflect GAC NE's independent identity. The word "AION" replaces the original "G" marked LOGO. In addition, the word "AION" is also used in 20 parts, including steering wheel, wheel hub, machine interface, welcome pedal, central control handrail and so on. Officials said that the purchased models will update the car-machine interface with the new logo through OTA.

Data show that GAC NE is an automobile brand under GAC GROUP, which was registered and established in July 2017. after more than two years of development, the sales of GAC Ean series products began to increase significantly. In order to improve the development of Guangzhou Auto E'an brand, the Guangzhou Automobile E'an brand announced its independence at the 2020 Guangzhou Auto Show, and GAC NE Automobile Co., Ltd. changed its name to Guangzhou Auto E'an New Energy Automobile Co., Ltd. This time, GAC Ean announced that the brand renovated, which is also a major move after the independence of the Eian brand.

At present, three main models of Aion S, Aion LX and Aion V are on sale. According to the data, the cumulative sales of GAC Ean brand in 2020 was 59500, of which Aion S was 46100, accounting for more than 77%. It is the main model of GAC Ean sales.

On March 29th, Aion Y, the fourth mass production model of GAC Ean, began pre-sale, and the new car plans to launch five models with a pre-price range of 10.59-149900 yuan, which will be officially launched at the Shanghai Auto Show. Aion Y was first unveiled at the 2020 Guangzhou Auto Show, but from the mass production version, there is not much difference between the new car and the concept version unveiled at the Guangzhou Auto Show. In terms of size, GAC Ean AION Y length, width and height are 4410/1870/1645mm, wheelbase is 2750mm, positioning compact SUV.

In the interior part, Aion Y's interior design is relatively simple, and there are not many jumbled designs. The 14.6-inch central control screen can achieve most functions, so there are only a few physical buttons in the car. In terms of power, the new car is equipped with two different power motors, the low-power version of the motor maximum power 100kW, the high-power version of the maximum power motor 135kW. In terms of mileage, the NEDC mileage is divided into three options: 410km, 500km and 600km.

As the first product after the independence of the Ian brand, the initial pre-price of Aion Y is not high. From the product positioning point of view, Aion Y in the 100000-150000 yuan price range is the current mainstream fuel vehicles position, Nissan Xuanyi, Toyota Corolla, Volkswagen Langyi and other best-selling models are also basically in this price range. In other words, Aion Y faces not only the competition in the field of new energy vehicles, but also the competition in the fuel vehicle market.

Xiao Yong, deputy general manager of GAC Ean, said, "the first small goal of Aoin Y is to become the champion of the market segment, which requires at least monthly sales of more than 5000 vehicles; the second step is to compete with fuel vehicles and sell more than 10,000 vehicles." According to the March sales of new energy vehicles announced by the Federation of passengers, Hongguang MINI, Tesla Model 3, Tesla Model Y, Euler R1, BYD Han EV, Aion S and Chery eQ all sold more than 5000 vehicles. In other words, if the monthly sales of Aion Y reach 5000, it will be among the top 10 new energy vehicle models.

Gu Huinan, general manager of GAC Ean, revealed that GAC Ean will challenge the goal of selling 350000 new cars and an average annual sales of 70, 000 vehicles in the next five years, and the pre-sale Aion Y may play an important role in this process. Data show that GAC Ean sold a total of 17649 vehicles in the first quarter of this year, including 7032 in March.
