AutoBeta(AutoBeta.net)04/16 Report--
In accordance with the requirements of the regulations on the Administration of defective Automobile products recall and the measures for the implementation of defective Automobile products recall regulations, Dongfeng Yueda Kia Automobile Co., Ltd. filed the recall plan with the State Administration of Market Supervision and Administration and decided to recall 89431 KX5 vehicles from June 15, 2021.
Recall models:
A total of 89431 KX5 vehicles were produced between January 26, 2016 and December 8, 2018.
Reasons for recall:
Within the scope of this recall, the vehicle may have a short circuit within the braking system HECU (Hydraulic Electronic Control Unit, hydraulic electronic control unit), which in extreme cases will lead to a fire in the engine compartment, resulting in safety risks.
Solution:
Dongfeng Yueda Kia Automobile Co., Ltd. will replace fuses in the safety box for vehicles covered by the recall free of charge, and upgrade ECU software for vehicles equipped with ESC (Electronic Stability Controller body Electronic Stability Control system) and EPB (Electrical Park Brake Electronic parking Brake system) in the recall area. After the vehicle within the recall scope replaces the fuse in the fuse box, if the subsequent HECU internal short circuit causes the insurance fuse problem, regardless of the service life and mileage of the vehicle, Dongfeng Yueda Kia will replace the HECU for customers free of charge to eliminate safety risks.
