AutoBeta(AutoBeta.net)04/19 Report--

The 2021 Shanghai Auto Show has attracted 1000 enterprises from all over the world to actively participate in the exhibition, and all the major car companies will release their own products and technologies to attract consumers to participate in the exhibition. On the other hand, each auto show also has another group of spectators, activists, who also use this time to advocate their own demands. Just as the Tesla booth ushered in a "big wave" of activists on the first day of its opening.

On April 19th, the first day of the grand opening of the biennial Shanghai International Auto Show, Tesla's activists stood around the Tesla booth. Photos and videos from the scene of the auto show were exposed online, showing a woman wearing a white coat with "brake failure" and Tesla LOGO, standing on a red Tesla car at the scene, shouting with all her strength. Tesla's brakes failed, attracting countless onlookers, and there was chaos at the scene for a time.

According to revelations, the incident took place at around 11:00 on the Media Day of the Shanghai Auto Show, at the Tesla booth in Hall 7.2. at that time, as many exhibitors were visiting the Tesla booth, suddenly a woman dressed in white jumped onto the roof of a red Tesla Model 3, shouting: Tesla's brakes are out of order!

After seeing the woman's behavior, the staff and security personnel quickly came forward to stop it. As the staff at the scene of the auto show went through many auto shows, they became very experienced in handling the incident, and they took umbrellas to cover the woman. During this period, the woman also rebelled, but was soon subdued by the staff and forcibly dragged out of the exhibition hall. It is reported that the whole process lasted 15 minutes. At the same time, Tesla also blocked the scene, all the media present were invited out of the booth, and the whole outside of the booth was also blocked with a yellow cordon.

I thought that Tesla's rights protection was only a personal incident, but according to other media, there were other consumers complaining at the Tesla booth this time, just like a pregnant woman wearing the same "brake failure" and Tesla LOGO, who was being invited out of the showroom by the staff.

In response to the "rights incident", Tesla's official Weibo has explained that the person involved was the owner of a speeding accident in Anyang, Henan Province, in February, and it was Ms. Zhang, the previous owner of a car in Anyang, Henan, who had sat on the roof of Tesla's Model 3 with a loudspeaker in her hand. Due to the failure of negotiation between the two sides, the car owner obtained documents to enter the pavilion in an unconventional way to safeguard his rights. Next, Tesla will continue to communicate closely with car owners to help them return to normal car life as soon as possible.

According to the Interface Financial Associated Press, the Shanghai police responded to the incident of safeguarding Tesla's rights at the auto show and has been involved in the investigation.

After the incident, Tao Lin, vice president of Tesla Company, said in an exclusive interview with reporters at the booth that "she contributed all the recent negatives" and "We have no way to compromise, which is a necessary process for the development of new products."

In fact, many consumers are encountered at the auto show every year, hoping to advocate their own demands through media attention. due to problems encountered at ordinary times, it is more difficult to seek media help. In the larger international auto show, there are many multinational manufacturers to participate in the exhibition, will usher in more multimedia attention, and at this time to protect the rights is undoubtedly a good way to expand communication.

As we all know, Tesla, as a domestic best-selling electric car company, there have been many cases about its "out of control" incident. According to public media reports, Tesla had 11 suspected out-of-control accidents in China in 2020, involving three models: Model 3, Model X and Model S. After entering 2021, such accidents have not stopped and still occur frequently.

Although Tesla explained a number of accidents in the past that the accident had nothing to do with the vehicle, judging from what happened at the auto show today, some car owners did not agree with this statement, and the differences between the two sides continue.

Frequent rights incidents did not stop Tesla's sales. In March this year, Tesla surpassed many second-tier luxury brands with an absolute advantage, and the year-on-year growth was also much higher than that of other traditional luxury brands.

According to the data, Tesla sold 35500 vehicles in China in March, of which Model 3 sales reached 25327 and Model Y sold more than 10,000 for the first time, reaching 10151. It is worth mentioning that Tesla has surpassed Cadillac, Lexus and other brands by virtue of Model 3 alone.
