A few days ago, Xu Liuping, chairman of China FAW, announced at the Shanghai auto show that the Hongqi supercar S9 will officially accept the global reservation from now on, the first batch of models will be limited to 99, and the new car will be officially delivered in the second quarter of 2022.

Although the new car will be unveiled as a mass-production version, the overall design is quite different from the earlier concept car. On the whole, it is even more like a concept car than a mass-production car. In appearance, the front face of the new car has full LED headlights and a glowing LED LOGO, and its LOGO has been replaced with the logo of the new Red Flag model.

At the same time, the previous model is a green painting design, but this time it is a red painting design, but I have to say that even if it is just a change of color, the overall design texture of the new car is still completely different.

Then look at the interior, there are obvious changes, compared with the previous more conceptual design, the appearance of the model is closer to the feeling of mass production. It is worth mentioning that the door opening mode of the new car has changed from the gull wing of the concept car to the scissors door, which looks like a more sharp movement.

In terms of power, the new red flag supercar S9 uses the world's first V8T engine and three-motor hybrid technology, with a total power of more than 1400 horsepower, an acceleration of less than 2 seconds and a maximum speed of more than 400km per hour.

It is understood that the car is a joint venture company jointly established by Changchun Municipal Government, FAW of China and Silke Company of the United States, and the Hongqi S series models are developed and produced.

Silco is an automobile company integrating vehicle design, engineering research and development, prototype car and vehicle manufacturing. Headquartered in New York, it has a wholly-owned R & D and production center in Modena, Italy, and has developed Bugatti Weihang, Pagani Zonda and other supercars. At the same time, Silco of the United States also registered its Chinese branch "Silke Technology (Shanghai) Co., Ltd." in Shanghai Free Trade Zone on April 29, 2019.

In the future, the car will be assembled and mass produced in Changchun FAW plant and will become another mass production supercar of Chinese brands. Officials say they are trying to turn the Red Flag S-Series sports car brand into a world-famous luxury sports car brand.

You know, since its birth in 1958, Red Flag has a history of 69 years. In this Shanghai Auto Show, Red Flag launched a high-end supercar, Red Flag S9, which can also be regarded as a real supercar in the history of its own brand.
