According to several media reports, the Wuling Hongguang MINI EV convertible version unveiled at the 2021 Shanghai Auto Show will be sold in Europe as CKD and renamed Freze Froggy EV with a starting price of 20, 000 euros (about 156500 yuan).

It was previously reported that in February this year, foreign carmaker Dartz introduced Hongguang MINI RV to Europe for production and sales. Hongguang MINIEV adopted the revived Russian brand "Freze" as its brand name, and Hongguang MINIEV was renamed "Nikrob EV" for 9999 euros (about 78000 yuan).

With the launch of the Hongguang MINIEV convertible version, the overseas carmaker will further introduce it and name it FreZe Froggy. It is understood that this model is already available for booking and is scheduled for delivery in 2022.

However, at present, the relevant news all points to overseas media, and the news about the export of Hongguang MINI convertible version to overseas markets has not been officially confirmed. Some media speculated that foreign dealers may introduce the car into Europe for sale through their own channels, similar to the domestic "parallel imported cars" approach.

At this year's Shanghai Auto Show, Hongguang MINIEV convertible version earned enough hot spots as soon as it was unveiled. Hongguang MINIEV convertible version is based on Hongguang MINIEV macaron model, the biggest change is the use of soft-top convertible open structure. From the perspective of the overall shape, the front and rear of the car are closed, the circular LED lights are cute and retro, and luminous strips are added around the body, so the overall shape is more cute. In addition, the new car also uses a luminous Wuling silver mark.

Unlike the Hongguang MINIEV on sale, the convertible version uses a gray-and-white ring design and a double 10-inch screen, and the air-conditioned area provides regular physical buttons, which is indeed a big improvement compared to the models on sale. As for motivation, the authorities did not disclose specific information.

Since the launch of Hongguang MINIEV, it has become the top seller of new energy vehicles within a few months, especially the newly launched Hongguang MINIEV macaron version, although the price has been raised, but the texture and configuration of the vehicle have been significantly improved. Wuling launched a convertible model on the basis of Hongguang MINIEV, which is a pleasant surprise. However, the positioning of Hongguang MINIEV convertible version is certainly different from before, and the price is expected to be around 100000 yuan. The audience of Hongguang MINIEV convertible version is still relatively limited, and the final pricing will determine whether the model sells well or not. Of course, for Wuling, its volume model mainly depends on the ordinary version, while the convertible version is more about raising awareness and attention.
