Data show that Xushui base is the largest independent brand production base in China, with a total planned area of 13 million square meters, a total investment of more than 30 billion yuan, and a planned annual production capacity of 1 million vehicles. The models produced by Xushui base include Harvard H6 Coupe, Harvard H8, Harvard H9, Harvard H2 and Harvard H7, Harvard H6, WEY VV5, Harvard H4 and so on. Yongchuan base is the fourth vehicle base of Great Wall Automobile in China, with an investment of 8 billion yuan and a planned annual production capacity of 250000 vehicles, mainly producing Great Wall Gun series pickup trucks, Harvard H9, tanks and other models.

If the news is true, Great Wall will become the second independent carmaker to announce a suspension of production after NIO Motor, and the first time a domestic carmaker has stopped production on multiple production lines. At the same time, the Great Wall tank brand announced its official independence and developed two major product series of business luxury and mecha technology, including the flagship model of the tank 700 positioning machine A series and the flagship model of the tank 800 positioning business luxury series. In contrast, the impact of chip shortage on overseas car companies is more obvious, including Ford, FCA, Nissan, Honda, Toyota, GM, Daimler, Volvo and other car companies have announced that production will be stopped or reduced due to chip shortage. Judging from the current situation of the major automobile companies in the world, the problem of chip shortage is difficult to be solved in a short period of time, and this problem has a tendency to gradually spread to China.

Industry insiders said that as the chip shortage is expected to last until at least the second half of this year, carmakers should seek to diversify their chip supply and actively adjust their production strategies. In addition, automakers should also strengthen cooperation with chip manufacturers and the government to strengthen the research and development of automotive semiconductor technology and reduce their dependence on external technology and supply.
