AutoBeta(AutoBeta.net)04/26 Report--

The trend of turning traditional fuel vehicles into new energy vehicles has become an inevitable trend, but the strategies adopted by different major car companies are different. Honda's new CEO Toshihiro Mibu has announced that he will achieve 100% sales of electric vehicles and fuel cell vehicles by 2040 to achieve the goal of carbon neutrality.

In order to achieve its carbon-free emissions target, Honda will sell 40% of all electric vehicles and fuel cell vehicles in major markets in 2030, 80% in 2035 and 100% in 2030, Minhong said at a press conference. According to the plan, Honda will invest about 301.5 billion yuan in the plan.

China, one of Honda's main markets, plans to sell 40% of pure electric vehicles and fuel cell vehicles in 2030, 80% in 2035 and 100% in 2030. It is understood that Honda plans to launch 10 EV models within five years, of which the mass production car based on the Honda SUV e: prototype will be available in the spring of 2022.

The Honda SUV e:protoype, a concept car based on the SUV e: prototype, made its debut at the Shanghai auto show on April 19th, which looks more like an electric version of the new Honda VEZEL (Honda / XR-V). From the interior point of view, the Honda SUV e:prototype uses a double large screen layout, in which the dashboard is suspended and the central control screen uses a vertical layout. There is no information on the power system and size of the new car. It is understood that the mass production version of the car will be unveiled in early 2022, and both Dongfeng Honda and Guangzhou Automobile Honda are expected to be put into production.

In addition, the Honda auto booth also displayed a number of new energy models, including Accord, Ling Pai, Haoying, Odyssey, English Poetry, Huanwei, CR-V, Ericsson, CR-V, VE-1+, M-NX and other new energy models. This is Honda's first appearance at the auto show with a lineup of hybrid, plug-in hybrid and pure electric products.

At present, a number of brands have announced full electrification. The Jaguar brand will be transformed into a pure electric car brand in 2025. According to the previous plan, Jaguar will gradually introduce electric vehicles to replace fuel vehicles, in which Jaguar XJ will be electrified, while a new entry-level pure electric will be developed to replace Jaguar Xe. By 2023, Jaguar XE and XF models will also be replaced by new pure electric, and E-PACE and F-PACE fuel pumps will be put on the stage of history.

Volvo announced that it would be fully electric by 2025, with pure electric models accounting for 50 per cent of total sales, selling only pure electric vehicles by 2030 and all models online by 2040. It is understood that the second pure electric SUV C40 Recharge based on XC40 will be launched in the Chinese market in 2022. As the first model of the new strategic plan, the new car will be sold online.

However, compared with other car companies, Honda's electrification process is relatively conservative. At present, most of Honda's models on sale are made by fuel vehicles, and a newly designed model has not yet been launched. From the perspective of the future automobile market, Honda is still under great competitive pressure as many traditional automakers go hand in hand to develop new energy.
