At present, Weierfa mainly relies on FAW Toyota imports to domestic sales, and at the Shanghai Auto Show held last month, FAW Toyota also brought a brand-new Weierfa model, the new car compared with the previous version has a lot of changes, the biggest change is the adoption of the crown logo, the name has also been changed to "Crown-Weierfa".

As we all know, Crown is a high-end model owned by Toyota Motor Co., Ltd., which was officially launched in 1955 and has now developed into the fifteenth generation of products for 65 years. In the consumer's impression,"Crown" is not only a Toyota, but also synonymous with Japanese high-end cars. However, as the market changed, sales of the 14th generation models plummeted and were finally discontinued on April 8,2020.

Although Crown announced that it had stopped production, Crown's reputation and feelings still existed. For this reason, FAW Toyota plans to launch two new cars, one of which is the above-mentioned "Crown-Weifa", while the other is GAC Toyota Highlander's sister model "Crown-Liufang". At the 2021 Shanghai Auto Show, the two models were released at the same time.

First of all, let's look at Crown-Weifa. At the Shanghai Auto Show, Crown-Weifa, which adopts the "Crown" logo, was officially launched. Three models were launched, with a price range of 83.9-92.0 million yuan. With reference to the previous price of 81.9- 873,000 yuan for Wilfa, the price of Crown-Wilfa is 20,000 yuan more expensive.

From a real car perspective, the main change in the Crown-Welfa is in the front face. There are obvious differences between the new Weifa and the current models on sale. The front face shape has been changed to the Japanese Weifa design, large-area vents have been adopted on both sides of the front bumper, and the special logo of Weifa has been replaced with "Crown" logo (5 in total plus wheel hub). That is to say, the five crown logos are adjusted to the front face, and the price is 20,000 yuan more expensive.

As a sister model of GAC Toyota Highlander, Crown-Liufang uses the appearance of the American version of Highlander XSE sports version, which is also the most significant difference from Highlander. The honeycomb style hexagonal grille is used inside the upper middle net, and the large size through transverse air intake grille is used below. This design is very similar to that of Senna, which will be introduced in the future. Of course, the most direct difference is that it uses the crown logo, which is the first time Toyota has carried the crown logo on an SUV model, and blue means that this model will use a hybrid system.

On the interior, there is little difference between Crown-Six and the brand-new Highlander. The suspended central control screen and all LCD instruments are popular interior design elements. The biggest difference is that the crown logo is also used in the center of the steering wheel, not the ordinary Toyota logo. As for power, Crown-Liufang adopts THS II hybrid powertrain system, equipped with 2.5L naturally aspirated engine, maximum power is 141kW, matched with E-CVT gearbox.

It is understood that the brand-new generation of Highlander will announce the price and configuration information on May 20. Considering that the new car is a replacement model, the upgrade adjustment is relatively large. It is estimated that the overall price is higher than that of the current model, and the starting price may be about 250,000 yuan. With reference to the Crown-Will method, the sister models of the Highlander with the Crown logo are significantly more high-end, which means that the price of the Crown-Six is higher than that of the new Highlander. Of course, the above are market speculation, Crown-Liufang will be listed simultaneously with the brand-new Highlander, then wait for the specific price.

Although Crown has been discontinued, FAW Toyota returns to the market in another identity through the sister models of Weifa and Highlander, continuing the production cycle of this series, perhaps from the perspective of enterprise strategy and consumers, it is worth trying. However, as Toyota's high-end model, the penetration of the Crown brand also means that consumers need to spend higher prices, although it is a brand-new model, but it is also a way to consume brand feelings and market reputation.
