On May 25th, Geely's new SUV Xingyue L officially opened its pre-sale, with a total of five models with two kinds of powertrain, with a pre-price range of 14.8-188000 yuan. According to previous reports, Xingyue L may be officially listed in July.

It is understood that Xingyue L is the third model based on CMA platform after Xingyue and Xingrui. Among them, Geely Xingyue, which launched in May 2019, is Geely's first SUV sedan model based on the CMA platform, but the current sales situation is not stable, with a cumulative sales volume of 4246 vehicles from January to April, of which only 414 in April. Geely Xingrui, which was launched in November 2020, is the second model built by Geely based on the CMA platform. Its appearance and interior have a large personality. It is powered by the same 2.0T Volvo engine, and its current sales are basically maintained at more than 10,000 vehicles. It can be said that it has become one of Geely's top selling models with a cumulative sales of 46182 vehicles from January to April.

Geely's third CMA model is about to appear on the market. From the outside, the new car uses the latest family design language, the shield intake grille uses a straight waterfall middle net, and both sides of the LED headlights are connected to the intake grille to form an integrated front face. It is worth mentioning that the car uses a blackened Geely logo, the overall texture has increased. In terms of size, Xingyue L positioning compact SUV, body length, width and height are 4770/1895/1689mm, wheelbase is 2845mm.

In terms of interior decoration, Geely Xingyue L also adopts a new layout, and the central control area uses a triple screen design composed of liquid crystal dashboard, central control screen and co-pilot screen. Three-spoke multi-function flat-bottomed steering wheel and aircraft-style block continue the family-style design.

The reason why Xingyue L is able to win the attention of consumers is mainly because of the power system. The 2.0TD engine carried by Xingyue L will be available in two tuning versions of T4/T5, with maximum power of 160kw and 175kw, and peak torque of 325Nm and 350Nm, respectively. In terms of transmission, the two engines will match the 7-speed wet DCT gearbox and the Ericsson 8AT gearbox respectively.

In fact, although Xingyue L locates the compact SUV, it has reached the level of medium-sized SUV. Geely officials stressed that Xingyue L will view L on the road. From the point of view of size, Xingyue L (4770x1895xxxue L) has obvious advantages compared with Tuguan L (4712lem2839mm 1673mm 2791mm), and the overall car body is more burly. Power, equipped with 2.0T engine Tuguan L maximum power 137kw, peak torque 320N m, and its official guidance price from 215800 yuan. As for the compact SUV market, the main competitors are joint venture models CR-V and RAV4 Rongfang, independent models Changan UNI-K and WEY Mocha.

Judging from the feedback from consumers, the pre-price of this model is relatively in line with expectations. Official Xingyue L will become a "SUV subverter", no matter in price or power has a certain advantage, it can be said that it is a "popular style" potential model. The car owner hits the compact / medium-sized SUV market and is expected to become a direct competitor to the joint venture brand.
