AutoBeta(AutoBeta.net)05/29 Report--

According to overseas media reports, Tesla, the US electric carmaker, announced that it would voluntarily recall some Model 3 models produced between December 2018 and March 2021, and some Model Y models produced between January 2020 and January 2021 because the brake caliper bolts of the models within the recall range may not be properly fastened.

According to an email sent by Tesla to North American car owners: "on some vehicles, the brake caliper bolts may not be fixed correctly." If one or more of the bolts are not fixed to the correct specifications, they may become loose over time. In rare cases, it may become loose to detach, causing the brake caliper to contact the inner surface of the rim. In this rare case, the vehicle may make an abnormal noise and prevent the wheels from turning freely, resulting in a loss of tire pressure. " However, Tesla did not disclose the specific sales of the recalled models.

Tesla said that no accidents or injuries related to the problem have been found. It is understood that the United States Highway Safety Administration has not yet issued the relevant recall notice.

According to Tesla's description, this brake caliper bolt does not cause brake failure. In addition, since Tesla announced the recall in the North American market, and imported Model 3 models were previously sold in China, there is a good chance that the Chinese market will follow the recall.

Tesla has submitted a voluntary recall to Chinese regulators for the record, and the recall will be launched as soon as possible after the completion of the filing process, and the recalled models are imported Model 3, according to the noon report.

It is understood that some models within the scope of this recall may not fasten the screws on the top D-ring of the front seat belt to the standard torque during the vehicle assembly process, and the recall covers a small number of imported Model 3 models produced from January 12 to November 20, 2019. In addition, some models within the recall may not tighten brake caliper bolts according to standard torque, and the recall covers a small number of imported Model 3 models produced between January 12 and November 20, 2019.

Tesla stressed that so far there has never been any brake failure, and Tesla has not received any cases of collision or injury caused by the situation. In addition, domestic Model 3 and Model Y models do not have such problems, so they are not within the scope of the recall.
