AutoBeta(AutoBeta.net)05/31 Report--

According to CCTV financial reports, South Korea's Ministry of Land and Transport announced on the 27th that it would recall a total of 714000 defective cars sold by Hyundai, Kia and other automakers in South Korea. It is understood that of the 714000 problematic vehicles recalled, a total of four models are involved, including 222000 Denisys G80 (DH), including all vehicles produced between July 10, 2013 and March 9, 2020. In addition, more than 190000 GRANDEUR (IG) manufactured from June 21, 2016 to April 21 this year are also recalled. Kia recalls more than 180000 QL vehicles manufactured from March 19, 2015 to October 23, 2020 and 4000 K7 YG vehicles produced from August 14, 2015 to February 8 this year. The main reason for the recall is the internal short circuit of the electronically controlled hydraulic device in the vehicle braking system, which may cause fire.

It can be seen from the data that Hyundai's Yazun and Genisse G80 accounted for 60% of the total recall. It also includes Kia Lion run and Kia K7.

It is worth noting that the Genisse G80 model has just started pre-sale in China, its pre-sale price is 36.38-436800 yuan, a total of two new car configurations. The G80 is one of the leading models in China, and the recall is bound to have a certain impact on the sales of G80 at home and abroad.

Related reports show that at the end of last month, more than 1700 Gaines 3.0 vehicles were recalled in the Chinese market due to fire hazards. Including Hyundai KONA EV, once the best-selling domestic electric car in South Korea.

The global shortage of automotive chips has dealt a heavy blow to many automakers in the past six months. The production lines of several best-selling models such as Hyundai and Kia have also been forced to stop production because of the chip shortage. Resulting in a number of models can not be delivered. In the face of "internal and external troubles", how should Hyundai break the situation?
