According to the latest retail sales statistics of the Federation of passengers, sales in the domestic narrow passenger car market reached 1.626 million in May, up 1.1 per cent from a year earlier and down 1.2 per cent from the previous month. Of this total, car sales were 794000, up 3.3 percent from the same period last year, up 3.4 percent from the previous month, up 12.0 percent from the same period last year, and up 3.8 percent from the previous year. 737000 SUV sales were up 2.3 percent from the same period last year, down 1.4 percent from the previous year.

From the sedan / SUV/MPV retail sales list released by the Federation, most models are still showing growth, but there are also many models that have fallen sharply. Judging from the major lists, the ranking of models has changed relatively greatly.

According to the car list, Xuanyi was still the leader in the car industry in May, but sales fell 16.2% year-on-year to 38373 vehicles, while Lang Yi model sales also fell by 10.9% to 30375 vehicles, down from second place in April to third place. Meanwhile, Carola made a strong counterattack this month, rising to second place from fifth in April, while sales rose 5.6 per cent to 35083 from a year earlier.

In addition to Xuanyi and Carola, Lei Ling, Accord and Camry also appeared on the list. Among them, Accord showed a decline of 11.3%, while Leiling and Camry both achieved growth, up 15.0% and 5.1% respectively.

The mainstream German models Bora and Suteng both declined, with the new Bora down 2.1 per cent year on year to 24556, Suiteng down 15.1 per cent to 20920 and Santana up 15.0 per cent to 15417. German luxury models BMW 3-Series, BMW 5-Series and Audi A6L all grew, of which the BMW 3-Series rose 34.2% to 18575, making it the biggest increase on the list. The BMW 5-Series also rose strongly, rising 29.0 per cent year-on-year to 16868 vehicles, while Mercedes-Benz C-Class, which sold 16000 vehicles in April, was removed from the list and fell 1.3 per cent to 15248 this month from a year earlier. The Audi A6L performed slightly lower than the BMW 5-Series, up 1.9 per cent from a year earlier to 16610 vehicles.

In terms of other models, only Buick Yinglang was on the list, with a year-on-year increase of 15.2% slightly better than other models, ranking third with 26752 vehicles. Tesla Model 3, which had a strong performance, fell off the list again, selling just 9208 vehicles in May. Independent brands only Acer MINI and Geely Dihao on the list, of which Dihao sales fell 32.9%, mainly because Dihao replacement is imminent, it is speculated that Dihao models will still be greatly affected in the short term.

Let's take a look at the SUV list. There has been a big change in the ranking of the top 15 SUV models this month. The most intuitive change is the exchange of Honda CR-V and Honda XR-V rankings. According to the data, the SUV market returned to the familiar ranking, with the Harvard H6 winning again, up 11.7 to 25065 vehicles from a year earlier, while Changan CS75 also strongly hit the second place, up 12.2 per cent to 22573 vehicles.

Compared with the results in April, the Honda CR-V 's performance in May was somewhat "incredible". In the list, the Honda CR-V rose 3.3 per cent year-on-year to 18787 vehicles. But the ranking fell to the fifth, ranking third in the joint venture SUV. Was overtaken by Honda XR-V and Toyota RAV4. Honda's XR-V surpassed this month, up 28.1% from a year earlier to 19361 vehicles, making it the biggest increase in the SUV list. In addition to Honda XR-V and CR-V, Honda Haoying and colorful wisdom also appeared on the list, and both achieved growth. Among them, Honda Haoying increased 17.1% year-on-year to 15544 vehicles, and Honda colorful increased 15.5% year-on-year to 12855 vehicles.

The top 10 in SUV sales in April was Audi Q5L, which was replaced by a BMW X3 in May. According to the data, BMW X3 sales rose 25.3% year-on-year to 14611 vehicles, which is still a considerable increase. Apart from the BMW X3, Mercedes-Benz GLCs made it into the top 15, while the Audi Q5L was slightly lower than Mercedes-Benz GLC, with sales of 11990 and 11722, respectively, showing double-digit year-on-year declines.

There is another car that made it into the top 10 this month, and that is the Model Y from Tesla. This month, Tesla Model Y ranked 13th on the list with a score of 12728, surpassing Volkswagen's mountain exploration and surpassing Qijun.

Sadly, it is very difficult to see American, Korean and legal systems on the SUV list. With the introduction of more and more excellent USV products, the polarization of SUV market will become more and more serious.

Let's take a look at MPV. Wuling Hongguang and Buick GL8 sold more than 10,000 models in May, of which Wuling Hongguang once again topped the list, but suffered another double-digit decline. Although Buick's GL8 performance lags far behind that of Wuling Hongguang, sales are stable at more than 10,000 vehicles, up 11.3% year-on-year to 12220 this month. Chuanqi M8 sold 6086 cars, Wuling Capgemini sold 5904, and Ericsson sold more than 5000. For a long time, the presence of Weiran in the market is not strong. Although Weiran's sales increased by 530.1% this month compared with the same period last year, it is only 1802 vehicles. Whether it can continue the strong growth needs to be verified in the future.

On the whole, most models can achieve growth, but there are also some models whose decline exceeds the market level. In the car market, Carola achieved a strong counterattack, Tesla Model 3 fell off the list again. In the SUV market, independent brands are back on track this month, with Harvard H6 and Changan CS75 ranking in the top two, while joint venture SUV has changed even more, with Honda CR-V falling to fifth and luxury SUV competition intensifying. In the MPV market, Wuling Hongguang tends to be saturated in the market and continues to decline, while the Buick GL8 market is relatively stable, with monthly sales of more than 10,000 vehicles.
