A few days ago, Hunan Liebao Automobile Co., Ltd. and Anhui Liebao Automobile Co., Ltd. filed the recall plan with the State Administration of Market Supervision and Administration in accordance with the requirements of the Regulations on the Administration of Recall of Defective Automobile Products and the Measures for the Implementation of the Regulations on the Administration of Recall of Defective Automobile Products, and recalled the following vehicles from June 15,2021.

(I) Hunan Cheetah Automobile Co., Ltd.: Recall some Cheetah CS9 pure electric vehicles produced between August 19,2018 and November 29,2018, totaling 1119 vehicles.

(II) Anhui Liebao Automobile Co., Ltd.: Recall some Liebao CS9 pure electric vehicles produced between December 5,2017 and December 28,2017, totaling 2998 vehicles.

The reason for the recall is that the power battery pack of the vehicle within the scope of this recall has loose connection of bus bar in the pack, weak welding of connection points of voltage and temperature sensor collection lines or battery heating sheet harness in some packs, internal short circuit caused by power battery cells, etc. In extreme cases, it may lead to thermal runaway of vehicle power battery, fire and potential safety hazard.

In view of the above defects, Hunan Liebao Automobile Co., Ltd. and Anhui Liebao Automobile Co., Ltd. will carry out consistency inspection on the power battery pack of the vehicles within the recall scope free of charge and replace the battery module with problems, improve the fixing method of bus bar bolts, inspect the welding points of heating sheets and reinforce or replace the problem parts, inspect the voltage and temperature sensor welding points in the power battery pack and the interference between the harness and the box body, and reinforce or replace the problem parts to eliminate potential safety hazards.

It is worth mentioning that this recall was carried out under the circumstances that the State Administration of Market Supervision and Administration initiated a defect investigation. Affected by the investigation, Hunan Liebao Automobile Co., Ltd. and Anhui Liebao Automobile Co., Ltd. decided to take recall measures to eliminate potential safety hazards.

Cheetah CS9 EV is based on the fuel version of Cheetah CS9. It was officially launched at Cheetah Changsha Factory on December 8,2017, and then officially launched at Changsha Auto Show on December 13. The subsidized price is 11.68- 136,000 yuan. According to the data, the cumulative sales volume of this model from 2018 to 2020 is 3326, 15750 and 490.

Cheetah Automobile is affiliated to Hunan Changfeng Automobile Group Co., Ltd.(hereinafter referred to as "Changfeng Automobile"), which was founded in 1950 and has produced and sold Pajero SUV in China in technical cooperation with Mitsubishi Motors, and owns its own passenger car brand Cheetah Automobile. After GAC acquired Changfeng Automobile in 2009, Mitsubishi Automobile and GAC Group established a new joint venture company, and Changfeng Automobile's whole vehicle business only has Cheetah Automobile.

According to previous reports, on April 27,2020, Geely Holdings officially took over the production base of Cheetah Automobile located in Changsha, Hunan Province. After Geely officially hosted Changfeng Cheetah Automobile Factory, Geely will engage in the production and sales of new energy vehicles, introduce new energy automobile products and technologies, and promote resource integration.

On August 18, about 200 authorized dealers of cheetah cars nationwide jointly issued the Statement on Stopping Free After-sales of cheetah cars in China (hereinafter referred to as the "Statement"). According to the statement, dealers are unable to provide free after-sales maintenance services within the scope of the warranty due to violations such as stopping production of vehicles, stopping the use of DMS system balances, stopping the supply of accessories and stopping answering 400 calls. However, for vehicles that have failed, dealers will use all channels to provide paid after-sales service with the consent of the owner.

At present, there are six products of Cheetah Automobile, namely CS10, CS9, CS9EV and Mattu Maitu, hard SUV Q6 and pickup truck Cheetah CT7. Due to the switching of five countries to six countries, the company's business problems, the products have basically been discontinued. The development time of cheetah car is not short, but there is no actual progress in technology research and development, so that none of today's cheetah models meet the national six standards and become the product abandoned by the times.
