It is understood that the new car has been officially unveiled at the Shanghai Auto Show and officially named EA1. The new car is the first model based on BYD e platform 3.0 (Dolphin) and will be sold on e-net in the future.
As the first model in BYD's new series, the BYD EA1 uses a more sci-fi design. From the overall body appearance, BYD uses a very round body design, the front face uses a closed grille, and added more U-shaped elements for embellishment, while equipped with BYD's new LOGO, high recognition. In the rear part, the new car uses a through taillight design, and there is also a black ribbon engraved with the "Build Your Dream" logo between the two taillights. According to the information in the declaration chart, BYD EA1 locates a compact pure electric car with a length, width and height of 4070 (4125) / 1770/1570mm and a wheelbase of 2700mm.
The interior has not yet been officially announced, but through the window glass, you can see that BYD EA1 has a relatively rare floating dashboard, a three-frame multi-function steering wheel and a floating central control screen, and there is a characteristic storage box at the bottom of the central control screen, and there are some physical buttons on the edge of the storage grid.
According to the declaration information, BYD EA1 will be equipped with a drive motor codenamed TZ180XSF, maximum power 70kW. In terms of battery type, the new car is equipped with lithium iron phosphate blade battery. According to media reports, the new car will go on sale at the end of August and will launch four models, namely, the off-road version, the angel version, the fashion version and the racing version, which will be sold on BYD e in the future.
Data show that BYD's cumulative car sales from January to May were 195674, an increase of 56.66% over the same period last year, of which sales of new energy vehicles were 113213, up 143.41% from a year earlier.
According to official information, BYD will adjust the company's organizational structure, set up four major divisions, carry out a series of personnel changes and prepare for the landing of a high-end brand. Specifically, BYD has set up four major departments: dynasty net sales Division, e-Network sales Division, Brand and Public Relations Department and after-sales Service Department. In terms of personnel, Lu Tian will serve as the general manager of the sales department of Chao.com, Zhang Zhuo will serve as the general manager of the sales department of e-net, and Gao Zikai will serve as the general manager of the after-sales service department. At the same time, Zhao Changjiang, general manager of BYD Automobile sales Company, will be transferred to a high-end brand project to take charge of the preparatory work.
BYD EA1 is the first model of BYD e. Com. In the future, BYD will launch sedan, SUV, crossover, pickup and other models, covering A, A +, B, B + class models. The power type is mainly pure electric EV models, gradually expanding to fuel models and DM-i/DM-p mixed models, and the design style is also different from the models currently on sale.
