AutoBeta(AutoBeta.net)06/16 Report--

Recently, the China Automotive Center released a ranking of high-end brand terminal retail volume in May, which counts the top 15 luxury car brands by sales. Overall, first-tier luxury brand BMW-Mercedes-Benz Audi continued to occupy the top three positions, second-tier luxury brand Tesla once again became a rookie, Red Flag brand became the only Chinese brand with more than 10,000 sales, while Lexus sales fell to seventh. In addition, sales of Infiniti, MINI, Jaguar and other brands remain in the doldrums, and Acura has fallen out of the top 15.

As a first-tier luxury brand, BMW Mercedes-Benz Audi still leads the luxury market. According to the data, BMW and Mercedes-Benz sold 75901 vehicles in May, 73134 for Mercedes-Benz and 67058 for Audi. BMW and Mercedes-Benz are well ahead of the Audi brand. According to the data released by the Federation of passengers, the BMW 3-Series and BMW 5-Series grew strongly in May, becoming the two models with the biggest growth in the car market, with the BMW 3-Series up 34.2% year-on-year to 18575 and the BMW 5-Series up 29.0% to 16868 vehicles. In addition, the BMW X3 rose 25.2% year-on-year to 14611 vehicles, the only high-end model to make it into the top 10 of the SUV.

Audi brand mainly comes from the sales of Audi A6L, Audi Q5L and Audi A4L, but due to the Q5L ushered in the medium-term revamped model, there is a certain fluctuation in sales in the short term, resulting in no significant room for sales increase. The Mercedes-Benz brand mainly comes from Mercedes-Benz C-Class, Mercedes-Benz E-Class and Mercedes-Benz GLC models, but all three models declined to varying degrees in May, resulting in lower overall sales than the BMW brand.

Compared with the first-tier luxury brands, the competition of the second-tier luxury brands is particularly fierce, and the brand ranking has changed greatly in May. In May, the second-tier luxury brand was won by Tesla, followed by Cadillac and Red Flag, Lexus sales fell to seventh, Volvo sales growth but still a significant gap.

Tesla sales of 22122 vehicles this month, although Model 3 has declined, but Model Y strong growth, its overall sales are still rising state, and did not appear is the most tragic situation. However, some analysts believe that as Tesla is delivered according to order, some of the May sales come from orders in April, so whether it fell in June is critical.

Cadillac retail sales of 22807 vehicles in May, thanks to the larger terminal concessions, competitiveness and performance-to-price ratio, so it has a good market performance. Volvo's current situation is very similar to that of Cadillac, which maintains market sales through substantial end-market discounts, but Volvo lags behind other brands, selling 15958 vehicles this month.

Red Flag is the only independent luxury brand with more than 10,000 sales. Positioning sinking, gradually rich products and continuous marketing efforts, so that the sales of Red Flag brand ushered in high growth, although Red Flag brand ranked sixth, but there were varying degrees of growth compared with the same period last year.

Lexus, which relies solely on imports, sold 18796 vehicles this month, falling to seventh place. The decline in Lexus sales is mainly related to the shortage of chips, and once the chips return to stability, Lexus sales performance is still very secure.

The tail luxury brand is caught between cracks to survive. Lincoln sold 7508 vehicles in May this year, mainly due to three domestic models, namely, navigator, pilot and adventurer, which have certain advantages in power system performance in the same class. In addition, the sales gap between Jaguar and Land Rover is also widening, with Land Rover selling 6230 vehicles in May and Jaguar ranking second from the bottom with just 2013. With sales of only 1094 vehicles, Nissan's luxury brand Infiniti is on the edge of the market and feels like giving up treatment. The same encounter came from Honda's luxury brand Acura, whose sales were unknown in May and fell out of the top 15.

Another figure can be seen in the list, which is the average transaction price of the model. Judging from the list, the average price of a bike is highest in Porsche, which is 834300 yuan, and the lowest is Red Flag, which is 212000 yuan. In addition, the average transaction price of domestic Lilly cars is 432900 yuan, which is higher than that of traditional luxury brands such as Mercedes-Benz, BMW and Audi.
