According to the official description, BYD dolphin uses the new design language of "Ocean Aesthetics", the overall style is younger, and the design elements of marine life also make the car look more smart. From the appearance of the real car, BYD dolphin uses a very round body design, the front face uses a closed grille, and adds more U-shaped elements for embellishment, while carrying BYD's new LOGO. In the rear part, the new car uses a through taillight design, and there is also a black ribbon engraved with the "Build Your Dream" logo between the two taillights. In terms of body size, according to the declaration information, the length, width and height of BYD dolphins are 4070 (4125) / 1770/1570mm respectively, and the wheelbase is 2700mm.

The interior has not yet been officially announced, but it can be seen through the window glass that BYD dolphins also use marine design elements, with a floating dashboard, a three-format multi-purpose steering wheel and a floating central control screen. there is also a characteristic storage box at the bottom of the center control screen, and there are some physical buttons on the edge of the storage grid.

According to the declaration information, BYD dolphin will be equipped with a drive motor codenamed TZ180XSF, maximum power 70kW. In terms of battery type, the new car is equipped with lithium iron phosphate blade battery.

As BYD's latest model, BYD dolphin is based on BYD e platform 3.0 and will be put into production at BYD's Changsha plant. According to media reports, the new car will go on sale at the end of August and will launch four models, namely, the off-road version, the angel version, the fashion version and the racing version, which will be sold on BYD e in the future.

BYD dolphin is the first model of BYD e, and in the future, it will launch cars, SUV, crossover, pickup and other models, covering A, A +, B, B + class models. The power type is mainly pure electric EV models, gradually expanding to fuel models and DM-i/DM-p mixed models, and the design style is also different from the models currently on sale.
