It is understood that the new generation of Infiniti QX60 is expected to be domestically produced in 2022, which will become the third domestic model launched by Infiniti in China after Q50L and QX50.

In terms of appearance, Infiniti QX60 uses the latest family design language in appearance design, and the forward air grille uses an inverted trapezoidal design, with headlamp sets made of full LED light sources on both sides, to further improve the recognition of the front face, and the new car uses hidden exhaust.

On the side of the body, the new car adopts the design of suspended roof, its D column is hidden, and the upper and lower edges of the windows are decorated with chrome strips. Rims are equipped with 20-inch large rims. The seat has a 2 / 2 / 2 layout. The headlights of the new car use a more detailed design, below which is an inverted L-shaped air diversion groove design, the bottom of the car is surrounded by trapezoids, and there are chrome-plated decoration at both ends. The interior adopts the layout of matrix lamp group.

In the interior part, the new car uses a brand-new three-frame steering wheel, equipped with liquid crystal instruments, the central control screen adopts a suspended design, and the air conditioning outlet adopts a penetrating layout. The center console adopts T-zone design, and each functional area is clearly divided. Equipped with HD 12.3in InTouch interactive display and dynamic instrument. In addition to the native system, it also supports wireless CarPlay and Android phone mapping, and enhances the entertainment extension functions of the system.

In terms of power, the new car is equipped with a 3.5L V6 in-cylinder direct injection engine with a maximum output of 299 horsepower, matching EF's newly developed 9-speed automatic transmission and equipped with an optimized and upgraded four-wheel drive system. In addition, the new QX60 will be equipped with an optimized four-wheel drive system with five driving modes: standard, ECO, snow, sports and custom.

From January to April this year, Dongfeng Infiniti sold a total of 911 cars, including 827 for QX50 and 84 for Q50L, according to data from the Federation of passengers.

The total number of the two cars in four months is less than a thousand, which is too few for Infiniti, which has been in China for eight years. Reviewing the market performance of Infiniti's two domestic models from January to April in the past three years, its sales increased from 8144 in January to April in 2019, to 3863 in 2020, and then to 911 in the same period this year, a decline from 53 per cent to 76 per cent. It is worth noting that Infiniti's sales have been rising since Infiniti was made in 2014, and reached a peak in 2017. China has also become the largest single market in Infiniti in the world. But the lack of new models is also a big reason why Infiniti continues to fall in China.

At present, Infiniti has only two models made in China, for any brand, it is really difficult to have a good development for only two models in seven years. At the peak of Infiniti sales in 2017, Infiniti said at the 2018 Beijing Auto Show that it would launch a "5 IN 5" plan in the Chinese market. The so-called "5 IN 5" plan is based on the launch of the new QX50 as the origin to launch five domestic new cars in the next five years, but now, except for the new QX50 on the same day of the auto show, we have not seen Infiniti's planned products of "5 IN 5". At the same time, Infiniti said it would launch its first electric model in 2021, and by the end of 2022, 25% of Infiniti's product matrix in China will be electric cars, which, for now, has not been realized.

Perhaps because of Infiniti's good results in 2017, Dongfeng Motor Co., Ltd. announced when it released its medium-term plan in February 2018 that Infiniti's sales would triple to 150000 vehicles by 2022, which, as things stand, is hard to achieve. For Infiniti, the key to reviving the market lies in the upgrading of the model, which remains to be tested as to whether the new generation of Infiniti QX60 can reverse Infiniti's situation after its launch.
