The recall was carried out under the circumstances that the State Administration of Market Supervision and Administration launched a defect investigation. Affected by the investigation, Great Wall Motor Co., Ltd. decided to take recall measures to eliminate safety risks. According to an article posted by netizens on July 3, due to several recent incidents of spontaneous combustion of Great Wall Euler IQ cars while charging in Taiyuan, Shanxi Province. At present, some local charging stations have blacklisted Euler, prohibiting the owners of Euler models from leaving the vehicle when charging or requiring it to be recharged. In response to this matter, the relevant media called two charging pile operators, Special call and Star charging, and the official customer service of the two operators confirmed to the media that there had been a number of Euler electric vehicle spontaneous combustion accidents in Taiyuan recently. Moreover, affected by these spontaneous combustion incidents, some charging stations in Taiyuan have blacklisted Euler models, causing great inconvenience to some car owners. Special call customer service also told the media that recently there have been a number of fuel accidents of Euler models in Taiyuan, and Euler models have been restricted from charging for safety reasons. No notice has been received to lift the ban. In addition, a screenshot of the chat of ride-hailing drivers shows that the charging station on Changfeng Street persuaded the owners of Euler to leave, or required the owners to be present.

Two charging spontaneous combustion accidents of Euler iQ occurred in Taiyuan at the end of May and June this year.
