On July 20, Geely's new SUV Xingyue L officially launched a total of six models with two kinds of powertrain, with a pre-price range of 13.72-188200 yuan.

According to the official delivery rules, blind booking users give priority to delivery on July 5, the pre-listing delivery price is in accordance with the pre-sale price, and "more refund and less compensation" after the listing price is released. Earlier, the official announced that the pre-price range of the five models is 14.8-188000 yuan, the price has been reduced by 2800 yuan, and new 2.0TD 7DCT comfortable models have been added.

As Geely's latest SUV model, Xingyue L is based on the CMA platform architecture and is the third model after Xingyue and Xingrui. From the point of view of appearance, the new car uses the latest family design language, the shield intake grille uses a straight waterfall type middle net, and both sides of the LED headlights are connected with the intake grille to form an integrated front face. It is worth mentioning that the car uses a blackened Geely logo, the overall texture has increased. In terms of size, Xingyue L is 4770/1895/1689mm in length, width and height, and its wheelbase is 2845mm. Although it is positioned as a compact SUV, it exceeds the Volvo XC60 and basically reaches the level of medium-sized SUV. Therefore, Geely Xing Yue L is actually playing the compact SUV under the medium-sized SUV with the help of the positioning gap.

In terms of interior decoration, Geely Xingyue L also adopts a new layout, and the central control area uses a triple screen design composed of liquid crystal dashboard, central control screen and co-pilot screen. Three-spoke multi-function flat-bottomed steering wheel and aircraft-style block continue the family-style design.

Different from the 1.5T Xingyue, Xingyue L is equipped with 2.0T engine and provides T4/T5 high and low power version, the maximum power of the high power version is 175kw, the peak torque is 350N ·m, and the brand is Aixin 8AT gearbox. The maximum power of the low-power version is 160kw and the peak torque is 325N ·m, which is matched by a 7-speed wet DCT gearbox.

In fact, although Xingyue L locates the compact SUV, it has reached the level of medium-sized SUV. Geely officials stressed that Xingyue L will view L on the road. In terms of size, Xingyue L (4770ap1895xxxingxingxue L) has an obvious advantage over Tuguan L (4712comp1839max 1673mm 2791mm). The maximum power of Tuguan L equipped with 2.0T engine is 137kw, and the peak torque is 320N ·m, but the official instruction price starts from 215800 yuan. As for the compact SUV market, it mainly competes for joint venture models Honda CR-V and Ford RAV4 Rongfang, and independent models Changan UNI-K and WEY Mocha.

It is understood that Xingyue L is the third model based on CMA platform after Xingyue and Xingrui. Among them, Geely Xingyue launched in May 2019, is Geely's first SUV sedan model based on the CMA platform, but the current sales situation is not stable, the cumulative sales in the first half of the year is only 71.045, monthly sales are basically maintained at about 1000 vehicles. Geely Xingrui, which was launched in November 2020, is Geely's second model based on the CMA platform, with a brand-new design in appearance and interior, powered by the same Volvo 2.0TD T4 engine, with a total sales of 66309 vehicles in the first half of the year, and basically maintained monthly sales of more than 10,000 vehicles, although there is a certain distance compared with the joint venture cars on the market, but it has achieved good results as an independent model.

It is worth mentioning that before the launch of Xingyue L, Geely launched the Xingyue S model on July 10, with a price range of 13.57-171700 yuan, built on the CMA platform, and offers a high-and low-power version of 2.0T engine for consumers to choose from. However, there is not much difference in appearance between Xingyue S and Xingyue, which can actually be regarded as a modified model of Xingyue.
