AutoBeta(AutoBeta.net)07/23 Report--
According to the latest report of the State Administration of Market Supervision and Administration, Porsche (China) Automobile sales Co., Ltd. has filed the recall plan with the State Administration of Market Supervision and Administration in accordance with the requirements of the regulations on the recall of defective Automobile products and the measures for the implementation of the regulations on the recall of defective Automobile products. From now on, some of the imported 2020 and 2021 Taycan series pure electric vehicles produced from January 7, 2020 to June 28, 2021 will be recalled, totaling 5957.
It is understood that the pure electric vehicle within the scope of this recall may lead to communication failure of the power supply electronic device due to the problem of electronic control software, resulting in the pulse inverter of the vehicle can not work properly. When this problem occurs, the powertrain will stop working, resulting in the loss of power of the vehicle. If the vehicle is driving in complex traffic conditions such as highways, it will increase the risk of vehicle collision.
In view of the above defects, Porsche (China) Automobile sales Co., Ltd. will entrust authorized dealers of the Porsche brand to update the software of power electronic devices (Power electronics) and motor electronic devices (DME) for vehicles within the scope of the recall free of charge to eliminate safety risks.
In fact, the recall is part of a global recall. Luxury car brand Porsche has announced that it will recall its first electric car, the Taycan, around the world to solve the problem of some cars suddenly losing power while driving. It is understood that the main reason for the Porsche Taycan recall is the "sudden power loss", that is, the Taycan may suddenly lose power while driving and cannot accelerate.
According to official data, a total of 43000 Taycan vehicles need to be recalled, of which 6000 are domestic, which is almost all sales since Taycan went public. However, Porsche said that while the problem does exist, the probability is 0.3%, that is, less than 43000 Taycan vehicles recalled may have the problem. However, due to safety concerns, Porsche will recall this model to solve the problem.
Data show that Porsche Taycan officially launched on September 4, 2019, is Porsche's first pure electric sports car, the current price range is 88.8-1.798 million yuan. Taycan sold a total of 20015 vehicles in 2020 and 9072 in the first quarter of 2021, accounting for about 12.8 per cent of all Porsche models, according to official figures.
Porsche sold 153656 vehicles worldwide in the first half of 2021, a new record for "half-year delivery" and a 31 per cent year-on-year increase, according to the latest figures. In terms of specific products, the best-selling model in the first half of the year is Porsche Cayenne, which delivered 44050 vehicles in the first half of the year, 12% year-on-year. Porsche Macan delivered 43618 vehicles in the first half of the year, up 27% from a year earlier. In terms of specific market, the Chinese market has once again become Porsche's largest single market in the world, with cumulative delivery of 48654 vehicles in the first half of 2021, while delivery in the United States has also increased significantly to 36326 vehicles.
In addition to the Porsche Taycan recall, the Porsche Cayenne was also recalled. Porsche will recall 94 imported 2018-2021 Cayenne series cars made between December 5, 2017 and February 10, 2021 from August 16, 2011. the recall is due to the failure of assembly personnel to strictly follow the operating procedures and the possibility that the connecting bolts between the steering column and the steering gear may not be fastened at the correct torque during a specific period. As a result, the bolts may come loose during use, and in extreme cases, the steering column may be separated from the steering gear, resulting in vehicle handling performance may be limited or out of control, thus increasing the risk of collision. In view of the above defects, Porsche (China) Automobile sales Co., Ltd. will inspect the recalled vehicles free of charge, replace the steering column fixing bolts and tighten the required torque to eliminate safety risks.
