The official launch of Xiaopeng Automobile Wuhan project is a key step after Xiaopeng broke up with the seahorse. As we all know, the current national control on the production qualification of pure electric passenger vehicles is very strict, and it is not easy for many new car manufacturing forces to obtain production qualifications, either through the acquisition of car companies with production qualifications to achieve mass production. or cooperate with car companies with production qualifications to carry out OEM.

Xiaopeng G3, the first model of Xiaopeng Automobile, is produced by Haima Automobile Zhengzhou Factory. For Xiaopeng Automobile, the problems encountered in production and capital can be alleviated through Haima Automobile OEM. Focus resources on research and development and technology. For Haima, as production and sales have not been ideal, the factory's production capacity has been in a state of surplus. Working with Xiaopeng Motor OEM can make effective use of the extra capacity and bring additional benefits. Data show that a total of 16544 vehicles were sold in the first half of this year, which seems to be a good sales achievement. in fact, Haima Motor is produced by Xiaopeng Motor OEM, and Xiaopeng G3 sales will also be included in Haima Automobile. Therefore, although the cumulative sales of Haima Motor reached 16000 in the first half of this year, it is actually only a thousand vehicles.

On March 19, 2020, Xiaopeng Motor obtained the production qualification through the acquisition of Guangdong Fudi Automobile Co., Ltd., that is, Xiaopeng Motor can no longer rely on Haima car for mass production. However, the cooperation between Xiaopeng and Haima is not over, so Xiaopeng G3 will continue to be mass produced in Haima Zhengzhou, while Xiaopeng P7 can be produced and sold on its own.

However, Haima has previously said that the co-production relationship between Haima and Xiaopeng will expire at the end of this year. As Xiaopeng already has a Zhaoqing factory and the Wuhan project is just starting, it is expected that Xiaopeng will no longer cooperate with Haima to build cars.

Without Xiaopeng car, where should seahorse car go? In addition to the imminent "breakup" with Xiaopeng, FAW will also "break up" with Haima. Prior to this, Haima Motor announced that China first Automobile Co., Ltd. intends to transfer 49% of its holding subsidiary FAW Haima Automobile Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "FAW Haima") and 50% of Hainan FAW Haima Automobile sales Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "FAW Haima sales") to Hainan Development Holdings Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Hainan Holdings"). Of course, it is not impossible whether FAW seahorse will usher in better development after it is separated from FAW.

At present, as a member of the new car-building forces, Xiaopeng Motor can be said to have gained a foothold in the market. At present, two models of Xiaopeng G3i and Xiaopeng P7 are on sale, and Xiaopeng P5 will be on the market soon.
