According to an obituary issued on Meiyihao official account on Aug. 12, Lin Wenqin, founder of Meiyihao brand management company, died at the age of 31 after driving an ES8 car with self-driving function (NOP pilot state) in the high-speed Hanjiang section of Shen Hai.

Yesterday, Lin Mouqin's family entrusted an agent, lawyer Lin Lihong, saying: it is illegal for the technical personnel of the company to contact the vehicles involved without the consent of the traffic police. In response, Xilai also issued a statement saying that the company had not done anything to delete the data and that no employees had been summoned by the police. A user, Mr. Lin, was killed in a collision with an engineering truck working on the Hanjiang section of the Shenhai Expressway at more than 14:00 on August 12, the company said. According to the information provided by Mr. Lin, he went to the parking lot designated by the Putian traffic police on the afternoon of August 16. the parking lot staff told him that on the day of the incident on August 12, the faulty car was consigned to the traffic police parking lot.
