Recently, the Great Wall Tank brand released a set of official drawings of a new SUV model, which is positioned as a medium-to-large SUV and will be equipped with a 3.0T engine + 9AT gearbox developed by Great Wall. Although the tank official has not announced the name of the new car, but according to the previously exposed information, the new car can basically be concluded to be the tank 600. It is understood that this is the first 3.0T+9AT model under the Great Wall, which means that the tank 600 will become the flagship model of Great Wall.

From the official picture, compared with the tank 300, the appearance of the tank 600 is more tough. From the appearance point of view, the tank 600 uses a large front grille shape, and around with thicker chrome decoration for embellishment, with internal dense spoke chromium plated banner shape, forward gas grille in the middle of the use of tank LOGO, two straight lines on the hood as if two muscle lines, quite a sense of strength, which greatly enhance the overall brand recognition. In addition, the tank 600 also uses a polygonal headlamp group, with the engine bulging rib line, the vehicle gas field is still relatively domineering. The tank 600 on the side of the body uses a large number of straight lines, and the waistline is full of sense of strength. On the rear side, the new car uses a vertical split taillight group, with the central polygon license plate area and the TANK letter logo above. In terms of size, the tank is 5070/1934/1905mm in length, width and height, and 2850mm in wheelbase.

In terms of power, the tank 300 will be equipped with a power system consisting of a 3.0T engine and a 9AT gearbox, with a maximum power of 354hp and a peak torque of 500N ·m. Based on the tank platform, the new car uses a non-load-bearing body and is equipped with a TOD time-sharing all-wheel drive system, which ensures the driving safety of the whole vehicle and stronger off-road performance. According to the plan, the new car will make its debut at the 2021 Chengdu Auto Show and is expected to go on sale in the fourth quarter or the first quarter of 2022.

As we all know, the domestic off-road vehicle market has long been monopolized by Jeep, Toyota, Nissan and other brands, and independent brands have been insurmountable in this field. Since Great Wall launched the Tank 300, it seems to have opened the door to cross-country autonomy and lowered the threshold of the cross-country, but as a low-threshold hardline SUV, the tank 300 is rich in configuration, but its cross-country capability is also controversial. In contrast, the tank 600 has directly risen to a higher level, not only with a more rigid design, but also a direct match with Great Wall's strongest powertrain, representing that Great Wall will officially move into the segment of high-end off-road SUV products, which may break the situation between joint venture brands and off-road market. However, the price of such a model must not be very cheap, the price is expected to be more than 300000 yuan.

At present, only the tank 300 is on sale under the tank brand. The tank 300 was originally a hard off-road SUV under the Great Wall WEY, with a 2.0T direct injection turbocharged engine + ZF 8AT transmission, with "three locks", tank turn and peristaltic modes to provide technical support for off-road. In addition to Tank 600 and Tank 300, the tank brand also plans two new models, Tank 700 and Tank 800, which represent a new brand type of business luxury and mecha technology for continuous brand upgrading.

From the current tank brand product series, Tank 300 is undoubtedly the most entry-level product of the brand, the current market price is 19.58-230000 yuan, while the future listing of Tank 600,700,800 and other models will not be very cheap. For the current domestic consumers, the independent brands with high prices are still difficult to be recognized by consumers, which means that whether the models after the tank 300 can have a good market performance is also full of uncertainties.
