AutoBeta(AutoBeta.net)08/27 Report--

Recently, South Korea's KNCAP released the 2021 Tesla Model 3 safety test results: a comprehensive score of 83.3 points, but failed in the automatic braking link. In the AEB automatic emergency brake test link designed by KNCAP in South Korea, Tesla Model 3 collided with bicycles and pedestrians at three speeds of 20km/h, 25km/h and 40km/h respectively, resulting in the loss of many points in pedestrian safety and accident prevention, which was only level 3 (the highest is level 1).

In South Korea, the automobile safety testing agency is called KNCAP, which is similar to Euro NCAP in Europe and C-NCAP in China. It is understood that South Korea's KNCAP uses the percentage system, which is divided into five levels, namely, 1 to 5, 1 is the highest, and 5 is the most garbage. From another point of view, this achievement is also demonstrated from many aspects: autopilot can not be fully trusted, the driver should always pay attention to the road conditions, and achieve autonomous control of the vehicle. According to the Automobile driving Automation Classification issued by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the driving automation level is divided into six levels: 0-5. At present, most of the automotive products on the market are level 2 or below. In other words, the majority of vehicles carried by the auxiliary driving function is limited to auxiliary driving, and can not achieve complete self-driving. Wang Yao, assistant secretary-general of the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, said that car companies should not over-publicize vehicles with driving aids, and consumers should strengthen their awareness and be responsible for their own safe driving. For the use of vehicle-assisted driving function, at present, Chinese vehicle enterprises have printed vehicle instructions, recorded video and other visual ways to carry out safety education for drivers. For the auxiliary driving function, the driver is still the main body of the functional operation and the subject of responsibility.

It is worth noting that Tesla Model 3 received only a "medium" rating in the European NCAP test earlier, due to the low participation of drivers in the autopilot assistance system, which shuts down automatically when the driver bypasses the obstacle. Other systems scored better because they allowed the driver to interact and then automatically reconnect, while NCAP used the word "AUTO" in Model 3 and gave no warning when the driver was absent, with a score of 10 on both 25.

The China Insurance Automobile Safety Index C-IASI has also released the results of the "domestic Model 3" evaluation. The overall evaluation results show that both the occupant safety index and the vehicle auxiliary safety index of Model 3 are excellent, while the pedestrian safety index outside the vehicle is good, and the crashworthiness and maintenance economy index are general.

From the European E-NCAP and China Insurance Research C-IASI evaluation results, it is not the more luxury models crashworthiness and auxiliary driving technology, the better, even Tesla, who constantly emphasizes self-driving technology, has not been able to get an excellent rating. From the results of several evaluation institutions, to a certain extent, it also represents their different views on safety.
