On August 27th, FAW Toyota's new medium-sized SUV Crown-Lufang officially launched six new models with a price range of 27.58-350800 yuan. As a sister car of GAC Toyota Hanlanda, the Crown-Lufang has attracted market attention for its more sporty appearance since its debut. The new car is based on the TNGA-K platform and provides a two-wheel drive / four-wheel drive 2.5L hybrid system for consumers to choose from.

Although they are sister models to each other, the difference between the two models is still quite obvious. Crown-Lufang follows the American version of the Halanda XSE sports version of the appearance, the new car uses a new front face shape, the upper middle net interior uses a beehive-style hexagonal grille, the bottom is a large size through the horizontal intake grille, looks more exaggerated movement. The forward air grille uses the brand new Crown LOGO logo, which is its most recognizable place. The shape of the side and rear of the car is basically the same as that of the new Hanlanda, but the tail is surrounded by more chrome decoration in order to echo the front of the car. At the same time, the Crown-Lu put the rear of the car with unilateral exhaust, while the Hanlanda is hidden.

As for the car body, the length, width and height are 5015/1930/1750mm and the wheelbase is 2850mm. Compared with the fourth-generation Hanlanda car, it has added 50mm, offering five-seat version and seven-seat version for consumers to choose from.

In terms of interior decoration, Crown-Lu Fang is not much different from the new Hanlanda, equipped with a suspended central control screen and a full LCD instrument, and the Crown logo is also used in the center of the steering wheel. In terms of configuration, the new car will have two space layouts, five-seater and seven-seater, and the new car will have 18-inch and 20-inch rims, head-up display, 12.3-inch center control screen, electric tailgate and other configurations.

In terms of power, Crown-Lufang provides two-wheel drive and four-wheel drive models, the whole system uses 2.5L naturally aspirated engine and motor composed of THS II hybrid power system, the maximum power is 141kW, the maximum torque is 238N ·m, and the transmission system matches the E-CVT gearbox. In addition, some models will also be equipped with electronically controlled four-wheel drive system.

In terms of products, Crown-Lufang, which locates medium-sized SUV, mainly competes with Ford Ruijie (22.98-30.98) and Honda Crown Road (22.00-33.28), but from the price point of view, its competitors have already involved some products worth more than 300000 yuan. In addition to the above models, the brand new Hanlanda, as a sister model, is also a competitor to Crown-Lufang. Although there are some differences between the two models in appearance, there are more differences in the logo. As a previously positioned high-end model, Crown-Luk is undoubtedly better in value. With reference to the price increase of Hanlanda in the market, it is estimated that the high-end Crown-Luk landing is nearly 400000 yuan. The price range of 30-400000 yuan already involves a lot of luxury SUV, such as Volvo XC60, Cadillac XT5, Land Rover Discovery Movement and so on.

As we all know, the Crown was originally a high-end model owned by Toyota, which was officially launched in 1955. Now it has developed to the 15th generation of products, after 65 years. Crown is not only a Toyota, but also a synonym for high-end cars in Japan. However, with the changes in the market, the sales of the 14th generation models plummeted and finally announced the suspension of FAW Toyota Crown production on April 8, 2020. However, on July 15, FAW Toyota announced that Crown was officially its high-end flagship brand, and its Crown Lufang and Crown Wilfa models were also officially launched to restore their former style. There is no denying that the crown is even comparable to first-tier luxury brands at its peak, but it has become a thing of the past. If consumers really pay for "feelings", then the crown will not end up in production. Therefore, although the crown is re-listed in another way, it is uncertain whether it will be recognized.
