As the newest independent brand of Great Wall Motor, the tank SUV may become one of the most dazzling booths of its own brands. As we all know, at the Shanghai Auto Show held in April this year, Great Wall officially launched the tank brand, bringing two new cars, Tank 700 and Tank 800, representing a new brand type of business luxury and mecha technology for continuous brand upgrading. At the upcoming Chengdu Motor Show, the tank brand will bring two new models, namely, Tank 500 and Tank 400.

I believe you should be familiar with the Tank 500. in fact, it is the "Tank 600" exposed before, the new car positioning in the large-scale business luxury SUV, based on the tank platform, using non-load-bearing body structure. From the appearance point of view, the tank 600 uses a large front grille shape, and around with thicker chrome decoration for embellishment, with internal dense spoke chromium plated banner shape, forward gas grille in the middle of the use of tank LOGO, two straight lines on the hood as if two muscle lines, quite a sense of strength, which greatly enhance the overall brand recognition. In terms of power, the new car will be equipped with Great Wall's latest 3.0T+9AT powertrain, with a maximum power of 354hp and a peak torque of 500N ·m. It is also the first model under Great Wall to use 3.0T+9AT.

As for the Tank 400, relatively little information is available so far. According to the official trailer chart of the tank, the new model is called the "future mecha", which means that the tank 400 will be a science fiction hardline SUV, with a large straight line design, a powerful front bumper and wheel eyebrows that look very unique. From the preview picture, we can also see that the rear windshield of the tank 400 has a rectangular design and is equipped with a sports-style rear spoiler, which is very similar to the previously released tank 700 as a whole.

Up to now, five models have been sold and exposed by tank brands, including tanks 300,400,500,700 and 800. among them, tanks 300 have been put on the market with a guiding price range of 19.58-308000 yuan. According to the inquiry from the Trademark Office of the State intellectual property Office, Great Wall registered a series of trademarks related to tank brands as early as last year, in addition to the models already exposed and on sale, it also includes tanks 100,200,900, 1000 and so on, all of which do not rule out becoming the product camp models of the tank brand.

The layout of tank brand models has been significantly accelerated. Before the tank brand was independent, there was only the tank 300. After the independence of the tank brand, the tank brand unveiled Tank 700 and Tank 800 at the Shanghai Auto Show, while just in the past four months, two more models of the tank brand, Tank 400 and Tank 500, have also been exposed one after another. Four new SUV models have been unveiled within a year, and the speed of the new product seems to be "too hasty".

Why do tanks continue to be popular? As we all know, before the tank brand became independent, Tank 300 was supported by the Great Wall WEY brand and hung the Great Wall WEY logo. With the establishment of the tank brand, the tank 300 will also be equipped with a new logo, which will no longer belong to the WEY brand. From the market performance of tank 300, as a positioning hardline cross-country SUV, tank sales are basically stable at more than 5000 in 300 months. Of course, due to capacity constraints, the performance of the tank 300 is actually more than that. The reason why the tank 300 is able to delay the market heat is mainly due to its low price, regular size and off-road performance. However, the positioning of subsequent models is different, whether it is tank 400 and tank 500, or tank 700 and tank 800, their positioning is significantly higher than that of tank 300, larger size and higher price means a smaller audience. At present, the tank 300 is still a hot model, maybe the tank 400 and tank 500 have higher production power, but its higher positioning may prevent it from replicating the market performance of the tank 300.
