Dongfeng Yueda Kia Jiahua officially opened its pre-sale at the Chengdu Auto Show, which opened on August 29, with an official pre-price range of 28.89-339900 yuan.

Domestic Kia Jiahua uses a new design language, based on overseas fourth-generation models made in China, using the latest Kia brand logo. The front face of the new Kia Jiahua is highly recognizable, the trapezoidal matrix front face is combined with a unique headlight group, and the suspended roof matches the chrome plating design of the rear of the body. The rear of the car adopts the design of through-type taillights, which echoes with the front face. In terms of size, the length, width and height of the new car are 5155/1995/1740mm, the wheelbase is 3090mm, the positioning is medium and large MPV, and the seat layout is 2'2, 2'2'3, 2'2'2 and so on.

In terms of interior decoration, the new Jiahua also uses the latest design language, and the 12.3-inch LCD dashboard and 12.3-inch central touch screen use the popular joint screen design. The volume knobs, temperature buttons and other common control keys in the central control area are all physical design, and the rest of the function buttons are touch-control interaction.

In terms of power, the new car will be equipped with a 2.0T turbocharged engine G4NN produced by Shandong Hyundai Weiya Automobile engine Co., Ltd., with a maximum power of 171kW (233hp) and a transmission matching eight-speed automatic transmission.

From the perspective of development history, the history of Kia Jiahua is similar to that of Honda Odyssey and Toyota Sienna. Kia launched the first generation of Jiahua in 1998 and made it home in 2004. Jiahua was regarded as a mainstream model in the MPV market at that time, but due to the relatively low market share of MPV and increased market competitiveness, Dongfeng Yueda Kia finally chose to stop the production of this model. The second-generation and third-generation models have failed to achieve domestic production and have been sold domestically by import. However, with the gradual rise of the MPV market and the relatively blank layout of the MPV market, Dongfeng Yueda Kia plans to "revive" the model.

The major car companies began to speed up the layout of the MPV market. Beijing Hyundai's first MPV Cousteau was officially pre-sold on Aug. 27, with an official pre-sale price of 17.58-218800 yuan, offering 1.5T and 2.0T power configurations, and equipped with 8AT transmissions.

On August 29th, GAC Toyota officially unveiled Sina at the Chengdu Motor Show, which is the first MPV of GAC Toyota and the first MPV of Toyota in China. The new car is based on the overseas version of Sienna, using Toyota's new family design, with a blue background Toyota LOGO in the center. The sharp shape of the headlights on both sides and the design of the big mouth front grille make the recognition of this car more prominent. In terms of size, according to the declaration information, the length, width and height of the Sena car body is 5180,1995,1765 (1786mm) mm, and the wheelbase is 3060mm.

As for the interior layout, the interior of the new car adopts the Toyota family design style, with a 9-inch floating touch screen and a 7-inch driving computer display, and retains a large number of physical buttons in the car. In terms of power, the new domestic Sena hybrid system with 2.5L four-cylinder naturally aspirated engine + motor, the comprehensive power of the system may reach 249hp (183kW).

According to the declaration information, Toyota Sena will offer five configuration models: LE, XLE, LIMITED, LIMITED PLUS and PLATNUM. Previously, the media announced that the prices of the five models were 276800 yuan, 299800 yuan, 316800 yuan, 337800 yuan and 369800 yuan respectively. At the same time, some sales posted on moments that the domestic Sina has begun to accept bookings, and the minimum LE version will not accept bookings for the time being, while other models have to be booked with a price increase of 50, 000 yuan for XLE and LTD, 60, 000 yuan for LTD Plus, and 75, 000 yuan to 80, 000 yuan for the top-matching model Platinum. From the market point of view, the market share of MPV is increasing, but the layout of related enterprises in this field is still very limited. According to the data of the Federation of passengers, the cumulative sales of MPV models in 2020 were 1.09 million, down 20.8% from the same period last year. A total of 650000 MPV models were sold from January to July in 2021, an increase of 23.0% over the same period last year.

Kia Jiahua's competitors are mainly Buick GL8, Toyota Sena, Honda Ericsson, Volkswagen and other models, of which Buick GL8 has a relatively good performance, with monthly sales of more than 10,000 vehicles. Buick GL8 sells for 23.29-533900 yuan, Kia Jiahua has a pre-sale range of 28.89-339900 yuan, and Toyota Sana has been revealed to have a guided price range of 27.78-369800 yuan. From a product point of view, the price ranges of the three models are relatively consistent, but the pre-price of Kia Jiahua is on the high side, and Toyota Sena is suspected of a price increase, which brings market variables to both models.
