On Sept. 3, BYD released its latest production and sales figures, showing that car sales in August were 68531, up 86.32% from a year earlier. Specifically, sales of new energy vehicles (including passenger cars / passenger cars) were 61409, up 301.81% from the same period last year, while sales of fuel vehicles were 7122, down 66.87% from the same period last year.

As the leader of new energy vehicles in China, BYD's sales of new energy passenger vehicles repeatedly hit record highs. In August, the sales of new energy passenger vehicles were 60508, of which 30126 were DM hybrid models and 30382 were EV models. In other words, the sales of DM hybrid models and pure electric models were basically the same.

Since BYD launched the DM-i super hybrid in January this year, Qin Plus DM-i, Song Plus DM-i and Tang DM-i three models equipped with the hybrid system, BYD new energy vehicles have completely exploded. However, in the case of hot sales in the market, BYD's production capacity is seriously insufficient, resulting in a number of would-be car owners complain that the car can not be mentioned. Under BYD's official Weibo account, there are still many netizens urging BYD to hand in the car quickly!

According to the plan, BYD aims to sell 400000 new energy vehicles in 2021, of which EV and DM hybrid account for half. According to the data, BYD sold a total of 266480 vehicles from January to August in 2021, an increase of 192.64% over the same period last year, which means that in the remaining four months, BYD will sell more than 134000 vehicles to meet its sales target. and the next two months are the traditional "gold, nine and silver ten", coupled with the continued hot sales of new energy vehicles, it is not difficult for BYD to meet its sales target.

In addition, BYD's high-end brand will be launched in the fourth quarter of this year, and the first model will debut at next year's Beijing auto show and go on sale in the first quarter of 2023. According to previously exposed information, BYD's high-end brand will be built on a brand-new model platform, with prices in the range of 50-800000 yuan. Officials claim that the brand is an "independent brand, independent group, independent sales network". It also means a new high-end brand or a new car logo.

Recently, BYD released its interim performance report for 2021, showing that operating income in the first half of 2021 was 90.885 billion yuan, up 50.22% from the same period last year; net profit was 1.174 billion yuan, down 29.41% from the same period last year; as for the decline in net profit, BYD said in its financial report that the company's gross profit margin declined due to changes in product structure. At the same time, the overall profitability of the company has been affected to a certain extent by the rise in raw materials such as commodities.

From the perspective of major sectors, revenue from rechargeable batteries and photovoltaics reached 8.287 billion yuan, up 82.87 percent over the same period last year; revenue from mobile phone components, assemblies and other products reached 43.132 billion yuan, up 84.48 percent from the same period last year; and revenue from cars, automobile-related products and other products reached 39.157 billion yuan, up 22.09 percent from the same period last year. The three major businesses accounted for 9.12%, 47.46% and 43.08% of the total revenue, respectively. Although BYD's auto business revenue has increased, its share has declined, to 43.08% from 53.01% last year.
