Nissan China released its latest figures on Sept. 6, showing that it sold 113166 vehicles in China in August 2021, down 10.6% from a year earlier, of which Dongfeng Nissan (including Nissan / Qichen) sold 95826 vehicles, down 9.1% from a year earlier. Nissan sold 915299 vehicles in China from January to August in 2021, up 8.5 per cent from the same period last year, of which Dongfeng Nissan (including Nissan / Qichen) sold 744573 vehicles, up 8.2 per cent from the same period last year.

Specifically, Xuanyi of the car camp is still the absolute source of Dongfeng Nissan sales, with sales of 47937 vehicles in August, up 2.7% from a year earlier. Although the car market is affected by a shortage of chips, Xuanyi monthly sales remain at more than 40, 000 vehicles. Xuanyi through the new and old sales way, with its own strength to occupy nearly half of the brand sales, Xuanyi performance no matter which brand has an absolute advantage. In addition, Teana sold 15023 vehicles in August, up 28.5% from a year earlier; Panda sold 5126 vehicles, with a cumulative sales volume of 39085 vehicles from January to August.

Dongfeng Nissan mainly relies on two models: Xiaoke and Qijun in the SUV market. According to the data, Xiaoke sold 13349 vehicles in August, with a cumulative sales of 104273 vehicles from January to August. Judging from the data, Qijun's sales performance is not as good as Xiaoke, but the market is not as hot as Dongfeng Nissan, which has just launched a new generation of models.

On July 30, the new generation of Dongfeng Nissan Qijun officially launched, the new car launched VC-Turbo Super variable engine 300 2WD and VC-Turbo Super variable engine 300 4WD, a total of eight models, with a price range of 181900 yuan to 262900 yuan.

As a new generation of models, Qijun has made innovations in appearance and interior design, such as further increasing the size of the forward air grille on the basis of the overseas version, with a new shift lever and knob-type all-wheel drive mode choice, suspended central control screen, 12.3in full LCD dashboard and 10.8in HUD system, which can realize three-screen linkage. However, compared with the appearance and interior, the biggest change of Xinqijun is the power system. The new Qijun is equipped with a 1.5T variable three-cylinder turbocharged engine with a maximum power of 150kW and a maximum torque of 300N ·m, matched with a new generation of CVT gearbox.

Dongfeng Nissan set the listing date of Xinqijun on July 30, perhaps to ensure that it can have a full sales month in August. In addition, after the launch of Xinqi Jun, the old model Qijun will be delisted at the same time, which means that Qijun's sales in August are those of a new generation of models. The new generation of Qijun sold 9228 vehicles in August, according to official figures. So is the sales performance of 9228 vehicles falling or rising? According to the inquiry on Nissan's Chinese official website, Nissan did not disclose the specific sales of Qijun in July, but through the cumulative sales of 81886 vehicles from January to June and 83066 from January to July, it is not difficult to find that Qijun's sales in July were only 1120, that is, the month-on-month increase of 723.9% in August. However, due to the imminent launch of a new generation of models and the consideration that manufacturers may adjust production in July, the reference value in July is not very high, so compared with the more valuable sales of 11581 vehicles in June, we can see that although the sales of the new Qijun are lower than those in June, the result is not ugly.

Can the new Qijun break the market spell of China's three cylinders? As we all know, domestic consumers are very taboo about the three-cylinder engine, which has been verified by the market, such as Buick Yinglang, Ford focus and other models on the three-cylinder engine. From a physical point of view, the jitter of the three-cylinder engine is large, the noise is large and the power is small, which is why consumers would rather spend more money on four-cylinder cars than three-cylinder cars.

However, the three-cylinder engine carried by Nissan Xinqi Jun also has some advantages. It is understood that the novel Jun carries the VC-Turbo super-variable engine 300 variable revenue ratio turbocharged engine, and this VC-turbo "super-variable engine" technology is built by Nissan at a cost of 20 billion US dollars. Judging from the power parameters of this engine, the 150kW's maximum power and 300N ·m maximum torque are indeed ahead of the same class, even comparable to the four-cylinder model.

As for the sales performance of Xinqi Jun, some netizens said, "what manufacturers announce is wholesale sales, but the estimated retail volume is not so good-looking." some netizens also said, "time will verify the results, and we'll talk about it half a year later."... From the point of view of monthly sales, Xinqijun's sales in August are within the rules, and Xinqijun's sales are successful as long as they do not plummet sharply. However, as netizens said, since the new car will not be officially available until July 30, it means that its dealers will shop a lot in August, because the manufacturers announce wholesale sales, so the sales in the first month on the market are of little reference value. Or retail sales are more valuable than wholesale sales. In the long run, whether the three-cylinder Qijun can maintain the hot sale of the old model, whether it can break the curse of China's three-cylinder, the market will give the final result, we will also look forward to it!
