AutoBeta(AutoBeta.net)09/07 Report--
According to the announcement of the State Administration of Market Supervision and Administration, Toyota Motor (China) Investment Co., Ltd. filed the recall plan with the State Administration of Market Supervision and Administration in accordance with the requirements of the regulations on the recall of defective Automobile products and the measures for the implementation of the regulations on the recall of defective Automobile products. It is decided that a total of 124 imported TOYOTA SUPRA vehicles produced during the period from March 1, 2021 to June 21, 2021 will be recalled from now on.
The reason for the recall is that due to the improper design of the control program of the engine control computer, the vehicle within the recall area may cause the engine crankshaft to rotate in the opposite direction if some specific operation is carried out immediately after starting the engine (such as pressing the ignition switch quickly twice). Affected by this, the lubricating oil in the vacuum pump which provides negative pressure for the vehicle brake booster can not be discharged, and the internal parts of the vacuum pump may be damaged after compression. In the worst case, it will lead to the hardening of the brake pedal and the lengthening of the braking distance, which will increase the risk of vehicle collision and lead to safety risks.
In view of the above defects, Toyota Motor (China) Investment Co., Ltd. will upgrade the engine control computer program of the recalled vehicles free of charge to eliminate safety risks. Emergency measures: before the vehicle recalls and upgrades the software, the user should not flameout the engine immediately after the engine starts.
Toyota Supra, as one of the most classic sports cars in Japan in the 1990s, is known as the "Bull Devil King" in China, and is favored by many fans for its excellent performance. In April this year, the new Toyota Supra officially went on sale in China, but the new car was recalled only four months after its launch.
On April 2, Toyota Supra officially went on sale in China, with a total of two equipped models priced at 496000 yuan and 626000 yuan respectively.
Although Toyota Supra is marked with a Toyota logo, the model is based on the BMW Z4 platform. In terms of appearance, the new car borrows from the design language of the Toyota FT-1 concept sports car, with a longer engine cabin design, exaggerated forward air grille and LED headlights, and the overall style is highly recognizable.
The interior style of the new Supra is more BMW, including a suspended central control screen, an electronic lever and a multimedia adjustment knob. The central control uses carbon fiber and leather materials for wrapping, plus the collocation of red and black colors to increase the texture and enhance the sense of movement at the same time.
In terms of power, the Toyota Supra 2.0T model is equipped with the same BMW engine, with a maximum power of 197hp, a peak torque of 320Nm, an eight-speed automatic transmission and a 0-100Km/h acceleration time of 6.5s. The 3.0T in-line six-cylinder engine has a maximum power of 340hp and a peak torque of 500Nm. The transmission system matches an 8-speed manual gearbox with a 0-100km/h acceleration time of 4.3s.
Although there is something wrong with the product just four months after its launch, as long as the manufacturer solves it properly, I believe consumers can still accept it. After all, the return of a classic sports car has more immeasurable "feelings" than the price.
