AutoBeta(AutoBeta.net)09/09 Report--

Wang Chuanfu, chairman and president of BYD, apologized to consumers when talking about the slow delivery of DM-i models at the launch of BYD's e3.0 platform on Sept. 8. Production capacity is currently climbing and delivery will be accelerated, it said.

In January this year, BYD released the self-developed "DM-i Super plug-in" system, with fuel consumption as low as 3.8L / 100km, comprehensive mileage of fuel and electricity exceeding 1200 km, and acceleration time of 100km faster than that of the same class of fuel vehicles by 2-3 seconds. Currently, BYD's DM-i technology includes BYD Song PLUS DM-i, Qin PLUS DM-i and Tang DM-i. The new car was scheduled in January and went on sale in March and April. It is worth noting that the BYD DM-i model has been sought after by consumers since its launch. However, many car owners have reported that several months have passed since the new car was booked on the market, and the car has not been mentioned yet. In addition, under BYD's official Weibo account, there are also many netizens who urge the delivery of cars online. One netizen said: when can I have my Song plus dmi? Han DMI is expected to wait until next year. Another netizen said: I haven't seen the car for more than four months, and the car in Kunlun is rusty.

Earlier, a marketing strategy plan called "DMI Kunlun Strategy" was exposed, probably in the case of insufficient production capacity of DMI models, giving priority to ensuring the supply of cars in Chongqing, Tianjin, Hunan, Jiangsu, Guangxi and other provinces and cities.

On May 17th, BYD issued an official statement on the delivery of the DM-i model. BYD said it apologized that it would take an average of 3.5 months for new orders to be delivered because of the large number of orders and the relatively slow delivery of vehicles. At the same time, it shows that the DM-i model is supplied to the national market, and the recent online "regional campaign market" initiative is only a marketing attempt by some markets. In the next stage, we will further expand production capacity while ensuring quality, and simultaneously build an optimized customer order delivery query system to achieve real-time information tracking of the whole process from customer ordering to car pick-up.

According to relevant data, BYD sold 60508 new energy passenger vehicles in August, including 30126 DM hybrid models and 30382 EV models, ranking first in new energy vehicle sales. According to BYD officials, the cumulative order volume this year may reach 900000 vehicles, but the company can only deliver 70-750000 vehicles this year, and the delivery capacity depends on materials and IC. At present, BYD has outstanding orders for 160000 vehicles, and the delivery cycle for cars has been more than 4.5 months. BYD said that orders that could not be completed this year would be postponed to next year. It is not difficult to see that BYD models are selling well, but BYD's production capacity is seriously insufficient, which has led to many car owners' complaints about not mentioning cars. The hot sale of the product is a good thing, but the delayed delivery of the vehicle also affects the car purchase experience of consumers to a certain extent.
