The reason for the price increase for the Model Y high-performance version has not been officially explained, but speculation is still linked to cost. Industry insiders predict that the impact of the chip shortage on the domestic automobile industry is still not optimistic. Chen Shihua, deputy secretary general of the China Automobile Association, said that the chip shortage may lead to a reduction of 500000 to 700000 vehicles in the domestic automobile market in August, and it is highly probable that car sales in the third and fourth quarters will be negative compared with the same period last year, but the cumulative sales for the whole year will be higher than last year.

As Tesla uses direct sales, his products are greatly affected by the market, such as the increase in the cost of battery raw materials, chip shortage and so on may directly lead to an increase in price.
