Judging from the available information, the Guangzhou Automobile Toyota Venza can be regarded as a sister model of the FAW Toyota Harrier, and the new car is expected to debut at the Guangzhou International Auto Show.

Although Guangzhou Auto Toyota Venza and FAW Toyota Harrier are sister models to each other, there are still some differences in appearance between the two models, especially the front face. The Venza front face does not use the horizontal grille on the Harrier model, but uses a large mouth air intake grille, the front face black trim extends from the middle to the outside to connect with the far and near light LED headlamps, and the two sides of the grille are similar to the design of air cooling grooves.

The new Venza tail shape is more round, while the through-type LED light source taillights are used on both sides, the lighting effect is very recognizable, and the bottom is a total of two exhaust shapes. In addition, there are reflective strips on both sides of the black bumper of the new car, embellished with silver chrome-plated strips below to highlight the sports style. In terms of size, according to the declaration information, the length, width and height dimensions of the car are 4780/1855/1660mm, wheelbase is 2690mm, positioning medium-sized SUV.

On the power side, the new car is based on the TNGA-K platform and provides a 2.0L gasoline engine and 2.5L hybrid system. Among them, 2.0L engine maximum power 126kW, matching CVT gearbox and providing front-drive / four-wheel drive models; 2.5L hybrid version of maximum power 131kW, equipped with E-CVT continuously variable transmission.

According to previous reports, Toyota Harrier will have two versions in China, the internal code of FAW Toyota Harrier version is 941B, and the internal code name of Guangzhou Automobile Toyota Harrier version is 942B. According to the Eco-Environment Bureau, FAW Toyota's new car codenamed 941B will be put into production in November 2021, while Guangzhou Auto Toyota has also begun a project to build a model codenamed 942B, which is expected to start production in February 2022. Both companies plan to have an annual production capacity of 60,000 vehicles.

At present, both FAW Toyota Harrier and Guangzhou Automobile Toyota Venza are expected to make their debut at the 2021 Guangzhou Motor Show and be officially listed in 2022.

At present, Toyota accelerates the new product layout in China, and has launched new Ling Shang, Asian Lion, fourth-generation Hanlanda, Crown-Lu Fang, Sienna and Harrier will be produced and sold by Toyota's two joint ventures during the year, which is an important measure for Toyota to implement the "two-car strategy" layout in the Chinese market, which is to further increase the Chinese market share.

According to the latest figures, Toyota sold 144800 vehicles in China in August 2021, down 11.9 per cent from a year earlier, and cumulative sales from January to August in 2021 were 1.2856 million, up 18.7 per cent from a year earlier.
