A few days ago, Mazda (China) Enterprise Management Co., Ltd. filed a recall plan with the State Administration of Market Supervision and Administration. The reason for the recall: due to the insufficient thermal insulation performance of the resin pump cover on the fuel tank in the scope of this recall, the fuel tank pump cover deteriorated after being affected by the heat produced by the engine and exhaust pipe; at the same time, due to the improper setting of locking torque, the fuel tank pump cover suffered excessive stress for a long time and cracks occurred. When used continuously under the above circumstances, it may lead to aggravation of fuel tank pump cover deterioration, crack expansion and fuel leakage, and fire may occur in extreme cases, resulting in safety risks.

In view of product defects, Mazda (China) Enterprise Management Co., Ltd. will replace the left and right fuel tank pump cover assembly for vehicles within the recall range free of charge and lock it according to the modified torque specification, and add heat insulation patches to the fuel tank to eliminate safety risks.

Emergency measures: before the vehicle recall and maintenance, the relevant users should drive carefully and contact the nearest authorized distributor to deal with the fuel smell and oil leakage traces. After the recall is implemented, the user should immediately contact the nearest authorized distributor for recall maintenance.

It is worth mentioning that the recall is an expanded recall of Mazda (China) Enterprise Management Co., Ltd. recalling some imported RX-8 cars issued on November 11, 2016. The reason for the expansion of the recall is: through further product investigation, it is found that the vehicles within the scope of this recall may have the same safety risks.

Mazda (China) Enterprise Management Co., Ltd. filed a recall plan with the State Administration of Market Supervision and Administration on November 11, 2016. a total of 2005 Mazda RX-8 sports cars produced from April 14, 2005 to February 15, 2008 will be recalled. It is understood that the Mazda RX-8 is the last product of the Mazda RX family, and it is the last Mazda car equipped with a rotor engine. Due to increasingly stringent emission regulations and fuel consumption, the inherent disadvantage of the rotor engine can no longer meet the requirements of modern cars. Finally, Mazda stopped production of the RX-8,RX-8 in 2012 and became the best model of the Mazda rotor engine. At the end of last year, Mazda announced that it would use rotor engines in the next model and develop a new vertical platform at the same time. Mazda CEO Marubeni said that the new MX-30 model in the future will be equipped with a rotor engine extension to power the battery and improve battery sustainability.
