In terms of body size, the brand-new Chuanqi GS8 offers 6-seat and 7-seat layouts. The length, width and height of the body are 4980mm/1950mm/1780mm respectively, and the wheelbase is 2920mm. As a reference, the length, width and height of the current GAC Chuanqi GS8 are 4835/1910/1785mm respectively, and the wheelbase is 2800 mm. It is not difficult to see by comparison that, as a brand-new generation model, the new car has a significant increase in length and wheelbase, which is expected to bring a better space experience.

In terms of interior decoration, the brand-new Chuanqi GS8 adopts simple style, adopts 12.3-inch LCD instrument +14.6-inch central control screen, 14.6-inch screen can realize more than 90% function output, built-in ADIGO4.0 system, so there are not too many physical buttons in the car. In terms of power, the new car launched the hybrid system for the first time, equipped with the Julang power hybrid system composed of Chuanqi 2.0T engine and Toyota THS hybrid system. Its maximum power is 140kw and peak torque is 320N·m. The fuel version will be equipped with a 2.0T GDI engine with a maximum power of 185 kW and a peak torque of 400 N·m. The transmission system is matched with Aixin 8-speed automatic transmission.

At the Beijing Auto Show held in 2016, GAC Chuanqi officially released the first generation of Chuanqi GS8. As the flagship model of GAC Chuanqi, it broke the ceiling of its own brand, but it still attracted the attention of many consumers. According to the data, the sales volume of GAC Chuanqi GS8 is 102214 in 2017,61,773 in 2018,28,096 in 2019,19,694 in 2020 and 7983 in the first August of this year. Although the design of the first generation Chuanqi GS8 is very successful, but five years later, consumers 'aesthetics are also changing, the design of the current Chuanqi GS8 has lagged behind, and consumers have more choices in the autonomous medium-sized SUV market. On July 25, GAC Chuanqi released the second generation Chuanqi GS8. The new car made changes in appearance, size and power, especially the hybrid system developed with Toyota was applied in power, and its product power will be obviously improved. GAC Chuanqi also hopes to regain the recognition of consumers through such changes.

It is understood that the current price of Chuanqi GS8 is 1558 - 262,800 yuan, and the price range of the brand-new generation model is 1888 - 246,800 yuan, and the starting price has been increased. As an autonomous medium-sized SUV, the competitors of Chuanqi GS8 mainly include Hongqi HS5, WEY Mocha, Chang 'an UNI-K, and the joint venture models mainly include Volkswagen Tiguan L, Volkswagen Yuanyue, Hyundai Shengda, etc. As for whether the new car can regain market after launch, we will wait and see.
