In the Chinese market, Mercedes-Benz delivered a total of 592203 new cars in the first three quarters, an increase of 4 percent over the same period last year, accounting for 36.61 percent of Mercedes-Benz's total global market share, ranking first in the global market. However, Mercedes-Benz did not disclose specific model sales.

At present, BMW and Audi have not released sales figures for the first three quarters, but according to previous data, Mercedes-Benz's market performance is between BMW and Audi. According to the data, the cumulative sales of BMW, Mercedes-Benz and Audi in the first half of 2021 were 467064, 441579 and 418188 respectively, making Mercedes-Benz sell 150624 vehicles in China in the third quarter.

Except for Mercedes-Benz GLBs, other models are halved year on year, while BMW 3-Series, BMW 5-Series and other models, although also because of chip shortage led to a decline in sales compared with the same period. But not as bad as Mercedes-Benz.

In terms of new products, Mercedes-Benz launched a new generation of C-Class at the 2021 Chengdu Auto Show, with a price range of 352-369200 yuan, which is higher than that of the previous generation of models. In terms of power, the new C-Class offers 1.5T and 1.5T+48V light hybrid power systems with maximum power of 125kw and 150kw respectively, peak torque of 250Nm and 300Nm, and a drivetrain that matches a nine-speed manual transmission.

Although the BBA brand has a strong performance in the traditional luxury market, it is not optimistic in the new energy vehicle market. Earlier, Mercedes-Benz launched the EQC pure electric model in the Chinese market, with a price of 57.98-622800 yuan. As the first pure electric vehicle of the Mercedes-Benz brand, its sales volume in the market is basically maintained at the level of several hundred vehicles, but the electrification transformation is imminent. Mercedes-Benz unveiled three pure electric vehicles, EQA, EQB and EQS, at the Shanghai Auto Show, which are expected to be introduced to the market this year. However, whether it can cause market repercussions or not is still unknown.
