AutoBeta(AutoBeta.net)10/14 Report--
On October 13, Honda China released its electrification strategy, launching a brand-new pure electric brand "e:N" and a brand-new intelligent and efficient pure electric architecture "e:N Architecture". Honda China announced at the launch conference that it will launch 10 pure electric vehicles in the Chinese market in the next five years, and will sell only pure electric and hybrid models in China from 2030, and will no longer launch new fuel vehicles.
At this conference, Honda China brought two brand-new pure electric vehicles, one is e: NS1 from Dongfeng Honda and the other is e: NP1 from GAC Honda. The two models are sister models to each other. The appearance design of the two models is relatively simple, the body lines are relatively strong, and the front adopts the luminous logo of e:N family. In terms of interior decoration, the car is equipped with a 10.25-inch LCD instrument panel and 15.2-inch vertical central control display screen. Most of the functions in the car are integrated into this set of display screen. The physical buttons only retain the functions of double flash, front and rear windshield heating, etc. It is understood that the two new cars will be launched at the Guangzhou Auto Show in November and are scheduled to go on sale early next year.
Dongfeng Honda e:NS1 has been declared in the latest issue of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology declaration catalogue. According to the declaration information, Dongfeng Honda e:NS1 has a length, width and height of 4390/1790/1560mm and a wheelbase of 2610mm respectively, belonging to the medium-sized vehicle class. In terms of power, the new car is equipped with an electric motor produced by Weipai Automobile Electronics (Tianjin) Co., Ltd., with a maximum power of 134kw. GAC Honda has not declared a new car yet, but as sister models, it is expected that the two models will differ in appearance, but there will not be too much difference in powertrain and body size.
In addition to the above two models, Honda China also unveiled three new concept cars, e:N Coupe Concept, e:N SUV Concept and e:N GT Concept, positioned as coupe, SUV and large GT models respectively. However, Honda China did not disclose specific information about the concept car, saying only that the three cars will be listed six times within five years. In addition to launching new cars, Honda China also released the newly developed new intelligent and efficient pure electric platform e:N Architecture, which can carry high-performance drive motors, large-capacity high-density batteries, exclusive frames for pure electric vehicles and chassis platforms. The platform has two branches, e:N Architecture F and e:NArchitecture W. Among them, e:N Architecture F adopts the front-front precursor form, which will be applied to the research and development of small and medium-sized models; in addition, e:NArchitecture W can adopt two forms of front-rear dual-motor all-drive and rear-rear drive, which will be applied to the research and development of medium and large models.
At the launch, Honda China announced that it would no longer launch fuel models in the Chinese market after 2030 and would launch 10 pure electric models in the Chinese market within the next five years.
At this year's Shanghai Auto Show, Honda booth exhibited a variety of new energy models including Accord, Lingpai, Haoying, Odyssey, English Poetry, Enjoy Domain, CR-V, Alishen Sharp·Hybrid, CR-V Sharp·Hybrid, VE-1+, M-NX and so on. This is Honda's first appearance at the auto show with hybrid, plug-in hybrid and pure electric electric all-series electric product lineup. At present, compared with Volkswagen, BMW, Audi and other automobile enterprises, Honda's electric process is relatively conservative, Honda's models on sale are mostly built from fuel vehicles, and a brand-new design model has not yet been launched.
When the transformation of traditional fuel vehicles into new energy vehicles has become an inevitable trend, more and more brands have announced the timetable for stopping selling fuel vehicles for six consecutive years. Volvo, for example, will be fully electric by 2025, with pure electric models accounting for 50% of total sales, selling only pure electric cars by 2030, and selling all models online only by 2040. Jaguar previously announced that it will transform into a pure electric vehicle brand in 2025, among which Jaguar XJ replacement models will be electric, while developing new entry pure electric to replace Jaguar Xe, Jaguar XE and XF models will also be replaced by new pure electric by 2023, E-PACE and F-PACE fuel pumps will be launched on the historical stage.
However, compared with other car companies, Toyota is not optimistic about the development of electric vehicles. At a regular meeting of the Japan Automobile Manufacturers Association in September, Toyota President Akio Toyoda, along with executives from Honda, Yamaha and Isuzu, warned that the Japanese government's goal of reducing Japan's greenhouse gas emissions by 2030 and achieving carbon neutrality by promoting pure electric vehicles by 2050 was unrealistic and would be devastating to Japan's economy.
