AutoBeta(AutoBeta.net)10/22 Report--
According to the latest report from the State Administration of Supervision and Administration, Beijing Mercedes-Benz Automobile Co., Ltd. has filed the recall plan with the State Administration of Market Supervision and Administration in accordance with the requirements of the regulations on the recall of defective Automobile products and the measures for the implementation of the regulations on the recall of defective Automobile products. Since October 22, 2021, a total of 3954 domestic C-class cars with production dates from June 29, 2021 to September 10, 2021 have been recalled.
Due to the deviation in the development process of the vehicle within the scope of this recall, the software of the airbag control unit may not conform to the specification, and the fault of the internal rollover sensor may be mistakenly detected during the initialization of the airbag control unit. As a result, warning lights (SRS, ESP) and warning messages are displayed in the combined instrument, and the ESP function is limited; in the event of a rollover accident, the airbag control unit may not be able to start the restraint system, resulting in the side airbag / side air curtain not starting, which may increase the risk of injury to the occupants and lead to safety risks.
Beijing Mercedes-Benz Automobile Co., Ltd. will upgrade the airbag control unit software for the affected vehicles free of charge through the Mercedes-Benz authorized service center to eliminate safety risks.
