Honda China, one of the Japanese carmakers, was the first to report October sales. Data show that Honda's terminal car sales in China in October 2021 were 148377, down 17.9 per cent from a year earlier. Of these, Guangzhou Auto Honda was 77748 and Dongfeng Honda was 70629. Honda's cumulative sales in China from January to October 2021 were 1256192, an increase of 0.8 per cent over the same period last year. Among them, Guangzhou Auto Honda is 618140 and Dongfeng Honda is 638052. Honda China said it was affected by a tight supply of spare parts for the decline in sales in October.

According to the terminal sales data released by Honda in October, although there was a decline compared with October 2020, it increased month-on-month compared with September 2021, and increased for two consecutive months, which means that Honda is still affected by a "lack of core." but it's been alleviated. Judging from the market performance of the two joint ventures, both Guangzhou Auto Honda and Dongfeng Honda can reach the level of 70,000 vehicles, up from September. However, due to the shortage of chips, Honda's sales growth in China is shrinking significantly from 3.9% in January-September in 2021 to 0.8% in January-October 2021. As the chip shortage continues to intensify, Honda's sales in China are more likely to decline in 2021.

It is worth mentioning that just recently, Guangzhou Auto Honda officially announced the pre-price of its new compact sedan model from 143000 yuan. The new car was publicly unveiled on November 1 and is expected to go on sale at the Guangzhou Auto Show. The new car can be regarded as the sister car of Dongfeng Honda Civic. The biggest difference is in appearance, interior and body size. In terms of power, the GAC Honda model is equipped with a 1.5T engine, the maximum power 134kw, and the transmission system matches the CVT gearbox, which corresponds to the Civic's high-power model. As a reference, the official guidance price of the 11th Generation Civic is 12.99-163900 yuan, and the power side provides high-and low-power versions of 180TURBO and 240TURBO. Among them, the price range of the three 240 TURBo models is 14.29-163900 yuan. The pre-price of this model is 143000 yuan, which is the lowest matching model.

In addition, Honda China also released its electrification strategy on October 13, launching a new pure electricity brand "EVOR N" and a new intelligent and efficient pure electricity architecture "ERO N Architecture". Honda China announced at the press conference that it will launch 10 pure electric vehicles in the Chinese market in the next five years, and will sell only pure electric and hybrid models in China from 2030, instead of new fuel vehicles.

Honda China has brought two new pure electric vehicles, one is the e:NS1 from Dongfeng Honda and the other is the e:NP1 from Guangzhou Automobile Honda. The two models are sister models to each other. The appearance of the two models is relatively simple, the body lines are relatively strong, and the front adopts the luminous logo of the eRom N family. Dongfeng Honda, by contrast, has moved faster, with the new car being declared at the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and making its debut at the Wuhan auto show, which is expected to go on sale in the first quarter of 2022.
