AutoBeta(AutoBeta.net)11/06 Report--

In November, Japanese car companies have announced the latest monthly sales. Data show that Honda's terminal car sales in China in October 2021 were 148377, down 17.9 per cent from a year earlier. Of these, Guangzhou Auto Honda was 77748 and Dongfeng Honda was 70629. Honda's cumulative sales in China from January to October 2021 were 1256192, an increase of 0.8 per cent over the same period last year. Among them, Guangzhou Auto Honda is 618140 and Dongfeng Honda is 638052. Honda China said it was affected by a tight supply of spare parts for the decline in sales in October.

According to the terminal sales data released by Honda in October, although there was a decline compared with October 2020, it increased month-on-month compared with September 2021, and increased for two consecutive months, which means that Honda is still affected by a "lack of core." but it's been alleviated. Judging from the market performance of the two joint ventures, both Guangzhou Auto Honda and Dongfeng Honda can reach the level of 70,000 vehicles, up from September. However, due to the shortage of chips, Honda's sales growth in China is shrinking significantly from 3.9% in January-September in 2021 to 0.8% in January-October 2021. As chip shortages continue to intensify, Honda's sales in China are more likely to fall in 2021.

Guangzhou Auto Honda unveiled its new compact car Integra on November 1, and recently announced that its pre-price is 143000 yuan, which is expected to be officially launched this year. In terms of power, the GAC Honda model is equipped with a 1.5T engine, the maximum power 134kw, and the transmission system matches the CVT gearbox and the 6MT gearbox. With the introduction of the INTEGRA model, it will further improve the gap in the segment market of Guangzhou Auto Honda, and at the same time form differential competition in product positioning and Civic, providing more choice space for consumers.

Mazda's latest sales in China showed that sales in October 2021 were 15291, down 22.3 per cent from a year earlier, down 10.64 per cent from January to October to 154609. In terms of specific models, the highest sales of Mazda in China is still Onksera, with sales of 9090 vehicles in October, accounting for about 59.5% of total sales. The other two models are CX-5 and CX-30, with sales of 2457 and 1859 respectively, all of which are owned by Changan Mazda, with a total sales of 13406. In other words, the Atez and CX-4 of FAW Mazda are only 1885. It is really choking to see the current market performance of FAW Mazda.

This year, Mazda has undergone a major change in China. Changan Mazda will merge with FAW Mazda, and China FAW will invest 60% of FAW Mazda in Changan Mazda. Changan Mazda will become a joint venture jointly funded by three parties, including Mazda (47.5%), Changan Automobile (47.5%) and FAW (5%). At present, the merger procedures still need to be reviewed and announced by national government departments, but the merger of FAW Mazda into Changan Mazda is basically certain.

For Mazda, the next effort in China will also be more focused. On Oct. 8, Mazda unveiled its SUV plan to launch five cross-border SUV models such as "MAZDA CX-50", "MAZDA CX-60", "MAZDA CX-70", "MAZDA CX-80" and "MAZDA CX-90" between 2022 and 2023.

Nissan China also reported its latest monthly sales. Nissan's Chinese passenger car sector, which includes the Nissan and Qichen brands, sold 95314 vehicles in October, down 23.3 per cent from a year earlier to 924641 vehicles from January to October, down 0.8 per cent from a year earlier, according to the data. In terms of specific models, Nissan's Xuanyi series sold 41896 vehicles in October and Teana sold 17598. It is worth mentioning that Nissan did not release specific sales of SUV models, which shows that its performance is not very good, especially the new generation of Qijun. According to previous media reports, Zhengzhou Nissan may resume production of the previous generation of Qijun, and renamed it "Qijun Classic" to achieve sales of new and old in the same room. it is expected that after the resumption of production, it will continue to carry 2.0L and 2.5L naturally aspirated four-cylinder engines, all matching CVT gearboxes, and some models will also be equipped with four-wheel drive system. It is understood that after Dongfeng Nissan launched a new generation of Qijun, due to the dumb fire in the market caused by a 1.5L three-cylinder engine, monthly sales remained at the level of 4000 vehicles, in great contrast to the previous monthly sales of tens of thousands.

Toyota sold 142000 vehicles in China last month, up from a month earlier but down from a year earlier. According to FAW Toyota's latest sales report, it sold 72830 new cars in October and a cumulative total of 670923 from January to October. Guangzhou Auto Toyota, one of Toyota's joint ventures in China, is also expected to reach the sales level of 70,000 vehicles, but the exact figures are still unknown. During the year, Toyota China has launched a number of new cars, including Ling Shang / Asian Lion, fourth-generation Hanlanda / Crown-Lu Fang, Sena and so on. In addition, FAW Toyota will also push Lingfang, Corolla CROSS domestic and domestic SIenna corresponding models and other new cars, Guangzhou Automobile Toyota Fenglanda, new medium-sized SUV Weisa are also under planning.

In fact, under the influence of the current shortage of chips in the automobile industry, the decline in sales is nothing new. at present, since most of the chips need to be imported, and the epidemic in overseas markets is still at risk of spreading, there is no guarantee that the virus will not suddenly stop some factories in a place, or even paralyze the supply system of the whole region. In such a bad environment, the global semiconductor supply chain continues to affect the production and sales of global auto companies.
