Dis said that Tesla is making every effort to speed up production efficiency, and the Berlin factory is expected to achieve a production speed of 10 hours per car, while Volkswagen's production speed per car is more than 30 hours, which will be reduced to about 20 hours next year.

Although Tesla is not going well in the German super factory, Tesla, relying solely on the capacity of the Shanghai super factory, sold nearly 8000 new cars in Germany in September. Tesla's price may be lower as the Berlin plant starts production, as transportation costs fall.

Notably, in October, Volkswagen CEO Deiss said Volkswagen was considering cutting 30, 000 jobs to cut costs and improve market competitiveness so as to better compete with rivals such as Tesla. It is understood that due to the lack of core, Volkswagen Group's production in Wolfsburg, Germany has been reduced to the lowest level. According to relevant data, Volkswagen's Wolfsburg plant in Germany has an annual capacity of 800000 vehicles, but so far it has actually produced less than 500000 vehicles.

Herbert Dis, chief executive of Volkswagen, has said: it is hoped that the efficiency of this factory in producing pure electric cars can compete with companies such as Tesla, so Volkswagen will transform the plant to improve production efficiency. According to Volkswagen's early electric car plan, Volkswagen will add about 50 pure battery-powered cars by 2030. According to relevant data, Volkswagen delivered a total of 231600 pure electric vehicles in 2020, three times the number delivered in 2019. A total of 190500 plug-in hybrids were sold, up 175 per cent from a year earlier. According to Volkswagen Group's 2020 results, the group's revenue in 2020 was 222.9 billion euros, down 11.8% from a year earlier.

Of course, compared with Tesla's sales in 2020, there is still a certain gap between Volkswagen's electric vehicle sales data and its sales data.
