As a reference, the length, width and height of the current Sagitar are 4753/1800/1462mm respectively, and the wheelbase is 2731 mm. The overall change is not large. Optional aspect, the new car can provide matt black lower grille, highlight black lower grille, 4 radar front bumper, multi-function camera, chrome door handle, exterior rearview mirror ground lamp, 6 radar front bar/rear bar and other configurations.

In terms of power, the new car will still offer 1.2T and 1.4T engines with maximum power of 115 hp (85 kW) and 150 hp (110 kW) respectively, consistent with the current model. In terms of driveline, it is expected to continue to match 5-speed manual and 7-speed dry dual-clutch transmissions.

The new car was built based on MQB A2 platform. It is officially called Sagitar Long-Wheelbase, i.e. long wheelbase version. The main change of the new car lies in the body size. The body length exceeds 4.7 meters and the wheelbase exceeds 2.7 meters, further meeting the car purchase demand of Chinese consumers.

Three years later, the new car ushered in a mid-term model change, mainly for the appearance of the adjustment, power aspects continue to carry 1.2T and 1.4T engines. In addition, there are media reports, the mid-term change of Sagitar is expected to carry EA211 EVO 1.5T, but the official did not confirm, 1.5T version of Sagitar also did not appear in the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology for declaration. According to previous reports, FAW-Volkswagen's first EA211 EVO 1.5T engine was officially launched in May this year and will replace the 1.4T engine used in the current domestic models in the future. At present, the models equipped with 1.4T engine include Golf, Magotan, Sagitar, T-ROC Song Detection, Yue Detection, Shadow Detection, Bora, Jetta VS5, Jetta VS7, etc. The new engine may be applied to the above models for six consecutive years in 2022, but the transmission system is still matched with 7-speed dual clutch gearbox. The latest data show that the retail sales volume of Sagitar in October was 20334, and the sales volume in the past six months was 83950.
