AutoBeta(AutoBeta.net)11/24 Report--
In less than a week, Tesla raised the price again, and the Model 3/Model Y entry-level models all rose by 4752 yuan! The price of the ordinary version of the rear wheel drive of the Model 3 rose from 250900 yuan to 255652 yuan, with no change in configuration information, according to Tesla's official website. The price of the ordinary version of Model Y rear wheel drive has risen from 276000 yuan to 2.80752 billion yuan, with the configuration information unchanged.
It is worth mentioning that this is Tesla's second price increase in a week. Tesla adjusted the prices of some models in China on Nov. 19, and the domestic standard continued version of Model 3 was renamed the rear wheel drive version, with the price rising 15000 yuan to 250900 yuan, indicating that the delivery date is expected to be the first quarter of 2022. By comparison, the previous mileage of the Model 3 standard battery life version was 468km, while the rear wheel drive version was 556km. In terms of 100km acceleration, the Model 3 standard battery life version previously had 5.6 seconds, while the rear-wheel drive version had 6.1 seconds. Earlier, the Model Y experienced a similar adjustment, renaming the standard battery life version to the rear wheel drive version, but the price remained unchanged at 276000 yuan, the mileage increased from the original 525km (NEDC) to 545km (CLTC), and the zero acceleration time increased to 6.9s, 1.3 seconds slower than the standard battery life version.
In response to the reasons for the price increase, Tesla said in an interview with the media: "this price increase is based on the decline of the national new energy subsidy next year, because the current car owners will not be able to pick up their cars until 2022." However, Tesla stressed that car owners decided before November 24 will not be affected by the price increase.
In response to Tesla's price increase, some netizens commented: "the price went up as soon as you booked a car. Are you looking down on me? I'm going to make up the price difference!" Another netizen said, "it's not easy for Tesla to be scolded for raising prices and for lowering prices."
According to the notice on improving the Financial subsidy Policy for the Promotion and Application of New Energy vehicles issued by the Ministry of Finance and other four departments in April 2020, the implementation period of the financial subsidy policy for the promotion and application of new energy vehicles has been extended to the end of 2022. In principle, the subsidy standards for 2020-2022 have declined by 10%, 20% and 30% respectively on the basis of the previous year, and the price of new energy passenger vehicles must be less than 300000 yuan (including 300000 yuan, but excluding the power exchange mode).
If Tesla's price rise is due to the decline of subsidies for new energy vehicles, will other electric vehicle manufacturers also be affected by the policy and carry out a wave of price increases on their models? This also needs to be verified in the future.
In fact, even without the impact of the decline of new energy subsidies, because Tesla adopts a direct marketing model, the price of his products is directly linked to the upstream, insufficient supply of spare parts and the rise and fall of raw materials may cause Tesla to adjust the price of his products. From the market point of view, although consumers are very disgusted with Tesla's rise and fall in prices, and even pull banners to protect their rights, they have to admit that Tesla's behavior of frequently adjusting prices has been gradually accepted by the market. For consumers who want to buy Tesla products, as long as the price increase is not too outrageous, it is still acceptable, and it does not affect the growth of Tesla's sales volume. According to the official website, Model 3/Model Y is currently expected to be delivered in the first quarter of 2022.
According to the Federation of passengers, Tesla sold 54391 vehicles wholesale in China in October 2021, of which 40666 were exported, while the domestic retail volume was only 13725. Tesla sold 56006 vehicles wholesale in September 2021, including 3853 for export and 53153 for domestic retail. If the production capacity of Tesla's Shanghai factory is sufficient, it should be the norm for Tesla to sell 50, 000 vehicles a month in the future.
