More than a month ago, Forbes, an American financial magazine, released a list of the richest people in mainland China in 2021. The video circulated on the Internet in the past two days is a clip of Li Shufu's earlier response to a media interview.

According to this year's Forbes list of the richest people in mainland China, more than 1/4 of the top 100 members of this year's list come from new energy companies. The top clean energy tycoon is Zeng Yuqun from the Ningde era, who ranks third in the top 100 with a fortune of 327.2 billion yuan, second only to Farmer Mountain Spring Zhong Kui and byte beating Zhang Yiming in the overall list.

And Li Shufu's name is also on this list. He mentioned that the rich list is boring and misleads people's view of wealth.

"I strongly disapprove of publishing the so-called rich list, which will lead to social misunderstanding and mislead people's view of wealth." Li Shufu thinks that this kind of so-called rich list is very boring, passing on superficial, seemingly real but unreal figures to society, leading to a lot of social misunderstandings. What needs to be promoted is the wealth that can really lead entrepreneurship, promote scientific and technological development and social progress, rather than those things that are not positive energy, otherwise it will be not conducive to scientific and technological innovation and the establishment of a correct concept of wealth.

Li Shufu also mentioned his salary in the video: "now people are very concerned about the income of different cities and different industries. in fact, my salary in a listed company is 30,000 yuan a month, or 360000 yuan a year. According to the incentive system in Hong Kong, pay more than one month's salary a year, so I get 13 months' salary, 390000 yuan a year."

Li Shufu said: "I don't like the rich list when they judge me from this point of view. In terms of enterprise competitiveness and the global status of China's automobile industry, it is the key to measure the success or failure of our work."

According to media reports, in October, Li Shufu, chairman of Geely Holdings Group, won this year's Rao Bin Award for China's Automobile Industry, the highest honor for entrepreneurs in China's auto industry. He said the award was "the result of the joint efforts of all Geely employees" and was more important than what he called other wealth for decades.

Li Shufu started as a refrigerator. In 1997, Li Shufu's understanding of cars was: "what's so great about cars? isn't it just four wheels, two sofas and an iron shell?" In 2010, Geely announced the acquisition of Volvo.

In the video, he also said: "over the past few decades, I have hardly any extra personal wealth, all the so-called wealth is in the enterprise." Listed company Geely car dividend is mainly given to Zhejiang Geely holding Group for enterprise development, a very small part to Li Shufu individual. His personal portion is basically donated to the Li Shufu Education Foundation, that is, the Li Shufu Public Welfare Foundation.

Li Shufu says he has had little extra personal wealth for decades. On the Forbes instant rich list, he has a personal wealth of US $23 billion, ranking 17th on the 2021 China Rich list and 83rd in the world. According to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, he currently has a personal wealth of about $31.1 billion, ranking sixth in China and 45th in the world. The 2021 Hurun Rich list shows that he ranks 13th in China with 175 billion yuan, and there is a big difference between several lists.
