AutoBeta(AutoBeta.net)11/29 Report--
On November 29th, Sina Automobile reported that an accident occurred while using the automatic parking function of a NIO EC6, which directly turned into a crash.
It is understood that at the end of July this year, Ms. Zhang from Hangzhou spent 325,000 yuan on an EC6. She decided to buy the car because she took a fancy to the features of the EC6.
The owner, Ms. Zhang, said that it was precisely because the self-driving function of the EC6 was fully autonomous and the technology was more mature, so she bought it. Unexpectedly, less than two months after picking up the car, the car hit a cement column while using automatic parking assistance.
According to the order provided by Ms. Zhang, the price of the car's autopilot is 39,000, including navigation assistance, turn signal control lane change, parking assistance and other functions.
In September, the owner, Ms. Zhang, had an accident while using automatic parking aid. according to Ms. Zhang, when she was using automatic parking, she originally wanted to reverse the car, but when it was about to reverse, the car moved forward to the right. It directly crashed into the cement post next to the parking space, resulting in a depression in the right front wing.
According to the data of the car recorder provided by Ms. Zhang, we can see that the car stopped to reverse, but the car suddenly started again, but instead of reversing, it hit the cement column in front of the right.
Ms. Zhang said: at that time, the driving function of the car had already identified the cement column and stopped in front of the post. For some reason, it was originally in reverse gear, but when it was reversed into the garage, it was in forward gear. Therefore, Ms. Zhang believes that there are security risks in the automatic assist function of this car. However, the EC6 parking in NIO turned into a car crash, which caused a great psychological shadow to Ms. Zhang. Ms. Zhang said that this function would never be used again.
In view of Ms. Zhang's situation, the person in charge of the maintenance of the Hangzhou Ulai car impermanence shop explained: when the accident occurred, the car had to choose a better angle to reverse the car, and the car had entered the state of parking aid. when parking, the position of the car will be adjusted to enter the garage, and there will be a process of switching gears. after switching gears, scratches occur because the square pillars in front of them are not identified.
As an autopilot function, the person in charge of maintenance in the store also answered the question of whether the car can identify the obstacles in front of it in the process of moving forward: round columns and square columns may not be recognized, which is a defect in the software. In addition, NIO said: this situation has been warned in the instruction manual, and in the parking function column, there is also a clear warning: "need to pay attention to the surrounding environment, pay attention to bicycles, corners, parking posts and other obstacles, otherwise it may lead to property or personal injury."
The maintenance official of the store further said: the distance reminder that there will be radar can not be recognized, such as Ms. Zhang has already received the reminder during parking, and the action of receiving the reminder is tantamount to artificial intervention to take over the car.
Subsequently, the reporter interviewed Ms. Zhang about whether she had received the reminder from the car. Ms. Zhang said she did not hear it. As the driving recorder cannot record the sound, it is difficult to explain the current situation, and both sides hold their own opinions. Ms. Zhang believes that the problem of the accident is related to the self-driving of NIO, and the other party must be held responsible, so Ms. Zhang put forward three solutions: hope that the 4S store can repair the car well; 4S stores need to pay 30,000 yuan in compensation for self-driving packages and extend the service for three years.
The person in charge of maintenance responded: the car can make an insurance claim, and the autopilot package can also apply for a special refund, but the service with a three-year extension cannot be realized.
At present, the two sides still have not reached an agreement on this issue, and the Ministry of Public Relations of Xilai said it will help the two sides to conduct further negotiations.
As a matter of fact, this is not an isolated case when Wei Zi's parking was hit. Prior to this, consumers have reported that an accident occurred when the new car was parked automatically on the day of Ti Wei Lai.
On August 12 this year, Lin Wenqin, a 31-year-old founder of Meiyi, died in a traffic accident on Shenhai Expressway while driving an ES8 car and turning on autopilot "NOP pilotage".
After the accident, ideal car founder Li Xiang called on the media and industry organizations on Wechat moments to unify the standard of Chinese nouns for self-driving, "not even a single extra Chinese character. Avoid misunderstandings caused by exaggerated publicity".
The "autopilot" function may provide a more convenient way for some consumers to use, but it is related to life safety. No matter what the software function is, car companies should provide consumers with more reliable driving behavior monitoring and prompting functions. Of course, for consumers, they should also be more cautious and understand the contents of the warning before use.
