AutoBeta(AutoBeta.net)11/30 Report--
Huawei, which does not build cars, has come to lay out the auto industry again, and Huawei has spent another 188 million yuan on smart auto parts manufacturing. Huawei successfully won a piece of construction land at the northeast corner of the intersection of Alishan Road and Taoyuan Road in Songshan Lake, Dongguan City, with a base price of 187.81 million yuan, according to the Dongguan Public Resources Trading Network.
According to the announcement, the industrial type of Songshan Lake in Dongguan is the manufacture of intelligent car parts, with an area of 263636.32 square meters and a transfer period of 50 years. The development and construction period of the site is 3 years. The construction project of the land will start before December 31, 2022 and be completed by December 31, 2025.
According to the contract of the project investment benefit agreement of Dongguan Songshan Lake High-tech Zone, the total investment of the project is not less than 2.4 billion yuan, and Huawei must pass the acceptance and put into production within 3 years from the date of bidding for the right to use the land of the project, and complete an investment of not less than 2.4 billion yuan within 4 years from the date of winning the right to use the project.
It is worth noting that although Huawei claims not to build cars, this is the second time that Huawei has won industrial land in two months. In October, Huawei won an industrial land in Longhua District of Shenzhen City with a base price of 298 million yuan, which is related to the new energy industry.
According to Shenzhen Public Resources Trading Network, the site, A922-0819, is located in Fucheng Street, Longhua District, adjacent to Foxconn headquarters, with a land area of 514857.79 square meters and a construction area of 763600 square meters.
On the new energy track, Huawei, which does not build cars, began to lay out as early as 2001. Huawei transferred its power supply division Huawei Electric to US-based Emerson Electric in 2001 for $750 million. Eight years later, Huawei restructured its power division and established a new energy division in 2010 before entering the charging pile market in 2016. In addition, Huawei has been working with a number of car companies since 2014, and Huawei has won cooperation with BAIC, Changan and Guangzhou Auto.
In March 2021, Huawei appeared in the announcement list of the 342nd batch of new cars issued by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology in the name of motor driver. the relevant information shows that this motor is TZ210XY584 permanent magnet synchronous motor, with a peak power (kw) of 195Comp230, which has been mass produced and has also applied for relevant invention patents, supporting models such as Changan CS95 pure electric version and Jinkang SF5 pure electric version of Jinkang New Energy.
In April 2021, Huawei's "first car" attracted attention. It is understood that Huawei and BAIC New Energy's high-end brand Jihu released the polar fox Alpha S Huawei HI version, starting at 388900 yuan. As the car is the first smart electric car equipped with Huawei lidar program, the use of Huawei fast charging technology for 10 minutes can increase the range of 197 km, which also caught everyone's attention.
In November, Huawei once again unveiled a patent related to vehicle motor cooling technology, CN113691192 A, which provides a powertrain, coolant flow estimation method and electric vehicles without the need to calibrate data for different thermal management systems, thus saving time on calibration data.
Although Huawei has publicly stated many times that it will not build cars, nor will it invest or control or take a stake in any car company, even last year, Huawei's internal website Xinsheng Community published an internal document called "Resolution on the Business Management of Smart car parts." the document reiterated that Huawei does not build complete cars, but focuses on ICT technology to help car companies build good cars and become an incremental parts provider of Intelligent Internet connected cars. Huawei also pointed out at the end of the article: "who will build a car in the future, interfere with the company, can be transferred from the post, and look for another job?" it is also marked at the bottom of the article: this article will take effect from the date of publication and is valid for 3 years.
When Huawei announced the appointment notice for its smart car solution in September, Huawei responded to the adjustment of Huawei's BU structure as a normal personnel adjustment with the core management team unchanged in order to better develop the smart car parts business. At the same time, Huawei has once again stressed that it will not build cars and will focus on ICT to be an incremental parts supplier of smart cars to help car companies build good cars.
Obviously, Huawei is not building cars but is laying out the auto industry in a different way. Huawei said: what the industry needs is not Huawei-branded cars, but the ICT technology capabilities accumulated by Huawei for more than 30 years to help car companies build future-oriented cars, that is, to provide intelligent Internet-connected auto parts based on Huawei ICT capabilities for car companies. Huawei has listed more than 30 intelligent auto parts. Including MDC intelligent driving computing platform, lidar, HarmonyOS cockpit and so on.
Based on Huawei's previous actions in auto parts, industry insiders speculated that Huawei does not build cars but could become a household name in the auto parts field in the future.
