According to the speech made by Li Bin, CEO of NIO Automobile, and the recent road test photos released by netizens, this model is likely to be the second electric car, ET5.

As a medium-sized car, the ET5 is positioned lower than the flagship ET7. And ET7 has started pre-sale, the pre-sale price range of 448000 yuan to 526000 yuan, according to the plan to start delivery early next year.

In a conference call on the third quarter of NIO 2021 in November, CEO Li Bin said that Lulai will deliver three new models based on NT2.0 technology platform, including ET7, in 2022, and that three NT2.0 models will have point-to-point self-driving capabilities. According to NIO's plan, there will be three models this year, in addition to the ET5 and ET7 and a rumored ES7,ET7 will be delivered in the first quarter of 2022, and the ET5 and ES7 will be delivered in the third and fourth quarters. NIO is faced with whether to add a high-volume model or lengthen the product line horizontally, the realistic choice will be more inclined to ET5. Xilai has previously indicated that it will not do less than 300000 of the market, and expects the starting price of the ET5 to be slightly higher than 300000, and to fill the gap under the ET7 market, combined with the BAAS battery rental scheme, the delivery price may be around 280000. In any case, the price drop will bring a volume boost to Ulai, and the ET5 has become an entry-level model for the current NIO, such as the BMW 3-Series. Recently, there was news that it planned to launch another new brand for the lower-priced mass market, called "Gemini" in English and "Gemini" in Chinese. In October, Xilai saw a strange drop in sales, delivering just 3667 vehicles, down 6961 from 10628 in September, or 65 per cent less. According to the ET7, the power data of the ET5 may be similar to the second generation electric drive system, which is composed of the permanent magnet synchronous motor of the front axle 180kW and the asynchronous induction motor of the rear axle 300kW. In the first two quarters of this year, Xilai led Xiaopeng's 13300 and 17400 cars and ideal cars' 12600 and 17600 vehicles with sales of 20100 and 21900 vehicles. Sales in the last month showed that Xiaopeng delivered 15613 vehicles in November, ranking first among new forces for two months in a row. Ideal car sales were 13485, an increase of 190.24% over the same period last year, while Xilai became the third place. November sales were 10878.

Although it will target different people and habitually group them into the same camp, this number will also reflect the change in its landscape in the market, which is the challenge of ET5 and more entry-level products.
