The Weibo of Weima Automobile and Shen Hui, CEO of Weima Automobile, has not confirmed the incident. Yesterday, a piece of Shen Hui's Weibo was reprinted by several media. He spoke for the car owner in Weibo, complaining that the charging piles distributed with the car could not be delivered because the property was not allowed to be installed. He said that Weimar delivered more than 40,000 cars, but nearly 20,000 of the charging piles distributed with the car could not be delivered. Subsequently, he further media reports further said, "Electric capacity, parking spaces, security risks, property refusal for too many reasons, users said that the property was manipulated to death."

In October last year, four spontaneous fires occurred in Weimar within a month. Including October 5, a parked Weima EX5 electric car caught fire by the side of the road and the whole vehicle was scrapped; on October 13, a Weima electric car in Shaowu, Fujian Province caught fire while charging, causing serious damage to the vehicle.

On the day of the incident on October 13, the Transportation Bureau of Shaowu City, Fujian Province immediately issued a circular, urgently halting the operation of local Weima taxis, and requiring Weima Motor to send technicians and taxi enterprises to attend the emergency meeting. it also requires Weima Motor to immediately eliminate hidden safety dangers, announce the incident notification and properly handle the accident, and specifically requires the company headquarters to release the results to the public after finding out the cause. This is only 13 days before it is put into use. On Oct. 1, local media reported that Shaowu City had put 131 new energy electric taxis on the market, including 80 Weimar SUV.

On the evening of October 27th, there was also a spontaneous combustion accident in Zhongguancun, Beijing. Weimar officially issued a product recall the next night, which said the company had decided to recall 1282 Weima cars produced from June 8, 2020 to September 23, 2020. since then, there have been no public reports of the Weima car fire.

In November 2021, Weima delivered 5027 smart pure electric vehicles, an increase of 66.6% over the same period last year, a record monthly sales and the best month since the brand went public. In the first 11 months of this year, Weimar delivered a total of 39095 vehicles.

At the time of publication, Weima Motor and the local fire department have not yet released an explanation on the Zhengzhou incident.
